Elden Ring Tutorial: How to Import Save Files On Steam

***This is my first YouTube video so any support is appreciated***
***If you can not see the folders in the video make sure in your file explorer "hidden items" is checked***

**For everyone still having issues with "failed to load save data" in any situation the easy fix is
-Make a backup save file
-Inside the appdate folder with your old save delete .s12 file(only after you made a backup)
-Load the game make a new character and quit the game(only have to do this 1 time even if you are transferring multiple characters just transfer all other characters to a empty slot)
-Use the save editor to transfer your backup save character to the new save and overwrite the new character you just made.

Tips:
-If you have multiple characters to transfer you have to update the "destination file" every time for each character or it will corrupt the save file
-Also if you copy and paste any save file into appdata you will get the "failed to read save date" every time this is why you have to make a new character to produce a new save file when you delete the old one.
-YES it works with the newest update and DLC

Seamless Coop:
-Yes you can use this for the seamless coop mod, but you have to put all characters on the save before you turn the .s12 file into a .co2 file so you cant edit the save once you change it to a .co2.
-I just made a copy of the save file I wanted to use for the mod and changed it to a .co2. Not sure if you can retrieve characters from the .co2 though it may be possible I've not done it.

This tutorial will show you how to add save files to your Elden Ring save file, you can not copy and paste a save file in your save folder it will not work. You have to use a save editor. If you are getting the "Failed to read save data" message this tutorial will help you.

I do not own this save editor tool only educating people how to use it.

You can also use this tool to backup your save and do all of the endings for the achievements if you wish.

Thank you ! For those, like me to whom it did not work for the first time, you HAVE to create a new character on the new account. This character you'll overwrite for the thing to work.

awesome video, i had "Failed to read save data" error and by deleting the folder in %appdata% and overwriting the save file again fixed the problem, also the program is very useful if you wanna share characters with your friends, just create an empty character first and then overwrite

to all people out there looking for this tutorial:

stay on the main menu where it mentions press any button doesnt work, the game WILL respond EITHER WAY to ANY click or typing you do on your keyboard or mouse, it doesnt zoom off like shown on video and its completely fullscreen

still the save method works either way as well as long you stay on main menu, i did it and the save file looks completely normal to me
