Reuben is my favorite sandwich. I work at OHare Airport and there is a Deli there that does a good Reuben Sandwich and piles on the meat.

Nothing wrong at all with an open faced Reuben! The Carnegie Deli served 'em that way, with the dressing on the side. I appreciated both ideas, 'cause the sandwich was heavenly, with or without dressing. These days, it's Manny's for me. That's an excellent operation, and Geno, the master carver, is a first-class guy with over 40 years on the bench. You won't be disappointed, believe me.

Oh dear lord. I need to travel. I’ll add my memo of one you missed for your Part 2 episode which will be inevitable. The Black Pastrami Reuben at Brent’s Deli in Northridge, CA (L.A.). It’s a masterpiece and should be tried. Don’t forget to get a Lemon Bar for dessert. Amazing episode.

Best Reuben I ever had was at Shilo's Deli in downtown San Antonio. It's a long tradition there and very popular. The food is absolutely amazing.

#1. You have to squeeze the kraut hard to get all of the water out. My dad had a Deli when I was in high school. Reubens, Muffaletta, roast beef po boys, fried shrimp po boys, you name it. Im 50 now and my homemade pastrami Reubens are thick and off the chain. 👍😪

There was a deli in Baltimore near the waterfront that made a corned beef on rye sandwich every 10 seconds. There was always a line going out into the street. This was in 1979. A whole kosher pickle was a dollar extra.

Perfect video! I will admit this, my favorite food on Earth us a Rueben Sandwich. It's a happy food, if you are ever having a bad day, you can take a bite and boom - no more sadness, maybe it's the memories, maybe the harmony of ingredients, perhaps It's because the name is Rueben, like Paul Rueben - the beloved Pre Wee Herman. Yessir, this sandwich is so good It's spankin!
Also shout out to y'all for adding that "When Harry Met Sally" moment. Have you ever seen the Michael Scott version of that scene with Erin, It's comedic gold.
