Learn how to multiply a polynomial by a polynomial in algebra by solving example problems. We do this by distributing in each term from the outside into each term in the trinomial. After all terms are cross multiplied, we simplify the final expression by collecting like terms.

I agree the FOIL method is useless. It just causes confusion when the key concept of 'distribution' is not that difficult to understand. Unnecessary complexity for a what should be, and is, a simple learning topic.
