A mother shares the story of losing her 18-year-old daughter to fentanyl poisoning.

Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

I watch these often. And, I'm 54. I really thought that I was in trouble when I drank a beer and smoked a joint. It's nothing compared to what these kids are dealing with now. I feel so sorry for kids nowadays.

My heart and empathy go out to you! As a nurse of 33 years, I became addicted to opiates about 22 years ago. Thank God I never got a pill with Fentanyl. I got clean and have not looked back! May you find peace in your life!!

I've been watching several of these experiences and they are heartbreaking. I can't help but place PART of the blame of recent fentanyl poisonings, on cell phones and social media (the digital age). Young brains (those not fully formed) are susceptible to all the information fed from the algorithms and images that social media broadcasts. If a child is prone to addiction or low self-esteem, the images of social media (readily available at the fingertips) just amplify that idea of unworthiness. People feeling unworthy will turn to outside soothers (like drugs) to feel better. Then, it just becomes a vicious cycle. Since around 2008/2009 our society has shifted from one where people had human interactions to digital, cell phone interactions. This has proven disastrous for young, developing minds. Although social media and cell phones are not all 100% bad, the OVER-RELIANCE on them, IS what is harmful in the long run, particularly to those who are prone to depression or low self esteem. There is not one sole factor that contributed to the early demise of all these victims, although their final blow was the actual fatal pill that they took. The whole thing is overwhelmingly sad. My heart breaks for all these families.

So so heartbreaking. My son nearly died 3 times. All fentanyl OD. Narcan saved him all times. The 2nd OD, I truly thought he was gone. Truly horrific. I am grateful my son is still here with me. 💔

I felt a really cold feeling from her mom she said that her daughter was asking why doesn’t her stepdad love me why doesn’t her dad love me and she tells her daughter to calm down… and 3 days and they let her go idk she didn’t even talk about how she was as a person besides the issues she had. SAD sometimes all kids want is to feel loved unconditionally

She was such a beautiful girl. My heart goes out to this mom. She wasn’t educated about drugs and her telling her story now is gonna save so many lives. May this Angel rest in peace.

I have found in all these stories, that there was nothing the parents could do. So heaven is filled with an awful lot of teenage/young angels that left many parents heartbroken.

2004 just seems like yesterday to me and this girl was born then and is already gone! She seemed so sad. Not having a dad is so devastating.

Your daughter needed so much attention!!!! As we women have other relationships I think we don’t pay enough attention to our first set of children. We bring them here to this world and we should worry with them before having more children.

Definitely no harsh words are needed for this grieving mother. She’s punishing herself enough for her part in the place her daughters life got to. May Deli rest in peace and may her mother find peace as well.

First, I send my condolences to this family and to all of the families and friends who have experienced the loss of a loved one to Fentanyl poisoning (including gun violence and domestic violence).

Second, I just want to encourage parents everywhere to keep your children close. Show up for them emotionally and physically, at every stage of their development, so that they feel safe and secure. Advocate for their needs in the school and in their community so that everyone knows they don’t walk alone that they are surrounded by loved ones who see them for who they are and not just another statistic. And as they grow up they will feel confident and empowered to make good life decisions that will keep them healthy and safe and moving in a positive direction.🦋

My condolences 😭 my son dealing with anxiety right now and he is 16 and used weed so now he is having psychosis hallucinations delusions and disconnected from reality episodes occurred last week and a dangerous thing happened that made me call the police and he was admitted to the hospital . I go visit him and we talk but I am scared to have him back home and he stays alone with my 10 yrs-old son. I don’t feel safe knowing they are left alone and he could harm his little brother so I am choosing to have him admitted and looking for a place for him to live there. Any parent going through something similar, stay strong 💪🏾 and keep positive as much as you can. God bless everyone reading this comment.

So so sorry for your loss. I lost my son to a brain bleed last year. It’s hell no matter what the reason they die.

This is so sad. I've dealt with anxiety and depression. I wish that Delli could have found a way to deal with these horrible conditions. I hope that everyone who is dealing with mental health problems find the support and medical care that they need.

This terrible drug comes like a thief in the night and steals precious lives. I’m so sorry for your losses. I have faith and I still struggle to understand why and how. My deepest condolences to you, Mom.

Cocaine use alone causes severe anxiety and depression when it's stopped. I was a recreational user for about 4yrs and I would get bad. I then went onto the M30s for about a year. I Thank God for helping me through it all. I'm alive to say God is real, he loves us just the way we are. No need to go to those drugs to "feel". I pray for every parent, family going through this. My friends bf just died of a fetty OD on 3/10/23. RIP to all those lost to this terrible drug...🙏 😢
