Since my state - PA does not allow doctors to charge the 15% excess charges some of these physicians & hospitals have found a way to get around this. UPMC is now charging a "Facility Charge" to be seen in their doctors offices calling it a "Hospital Charge". I was billed $43 for a Facility Charge that I am refusing to pay. So Patient beware, before you go to a new physician for the first time. You need to ask them if they will be charging you a Facility Charge just to sit in an exam room chair each time you go to their office. Basically this charge helps pay their office rent, and currently only two states forbid this type of billing (CT &MD).

Ms. Abt thank you for your detail review of Plan N. I decided on Plan N in Oklahoma because it cost $50.00/month less than Plan G. I went with Mutal of Omaha. The Plan G I had was by Cigna. It last 30 days after I found out about Plan N, :)
