I have also 5 reasons why I should buy a Steam Deck.
1. Gaming laptop is not pocketable
2. Ayaneo and those other Chinese made PC handhelds are expensive
3. Steam Deck is not super cheap but is affordable
4. I want to play Days Gone
5. I have no PC

I’m still in disbelief that I’m running my beloved psp and ps3 games on my steam deck. What a time to be alive

You repeat the thing about emulation. But it's not steam decks primary purpose. It's a moot point. I can play triple aaa games on the go.

Suggesting the Nintendo Switch for retro games is terrible advice. The library is very small and the cheapest option for their plus expansion is 50 dollars a year.

Alot of the most treasured retro games aren’t even on the system and as soon as you cancel your expensive subscription you can no longer play the games.

I love my Nintendo Switch but emulation on the Deck is Far far superior. The game selection on switch is a tiny fraction of what you’ll have access to on steam deck

Y'all I need you to understand he's just presenting negatives in this video. Look at his channel he clearly loves the thing and he did a 5 reasons he loves it video too. Criticism does not equal hate. You can criticize things you like and still like them, we aren't 10 anymore.

I enjoy the Steam Deck, 'verified' games are the way to go if you want hassle free play sessions. Games in the 'playable' category have been hit and miss for me, certain 'playable' games work fine, other 'playable' games just crash during use and close, I'm looking at you Borderlands 3.

Yes I'll buy a less powerful device and pay extra for a premium service to play a smaller selection of curated retro titles. Great advice mate 👌🏼

Another reason you wouldn't want to buy the Deck is you like to spend full price for games on the Switch and don't like to play all those free games you get like from the Epic store. Switch physical copy of games hold their value more compared to Steam game sales, more sales and even more sales and Epic / GoG/ Amazon Prime free games.

my reason for buying steam deck even though it is buggy or glitchy:
1. I can play AAA high graphics game on the go
2. I could use it for desktop mode which ps4 and switch cannot do
3. I can play some ps4 games or PC and Xbox games which nintendo switch failed to do so
4. it has touch pad that serves as mouse, has back trigger buttons which you cannot find in a nintendo switch
5. can emulate games. can play classic NES, SNES, nintendo 64 games which nintendo also offers but.. you have to have an online subscription to play.

steam deck for me is great on its own. And it is a portable PC shrinked into a console form

Main reason to get a steam deck is dual boot windows and steam. Means I can run all the windows programs I need without having to lug around a laptop. Also the power consumption to performance ratio is really good as well. But the last consideration to get the deck is the price point. It’s not way overpriced but still flexible enough for modifications.

Ouch.. Dude - I haven't touched my switch in over a year and I sold it for the deck and HOLEY SMOKES - this thing is incredible!! I LOVE IT. I can play all these old titles I loved from PS3/Xbox360 era to even current games like Dead Space and Callisto. Yes it's got compromises, but WOW. Dude, this is perhaps the worst justifications I have ever seen "not to buy the steam deck". The thing is like nothing I've ever owned. Yes its like a weak gaming PC that can play new titles with lowered settings - BUT IT'S A HANDHELD. And for what it is, it's quite cheap - I got the 64 and added a 512 Micro SD card (nearly as fast as SSD). You've only got 319 subs and finding poor arguments not to buy a deck is a really bad way to catch new ones friend. Almost 4000 views and only 319 still? Ouch. Deck-pro videos and content is HOT right now as handheld PC gaming is a new niche to be plundered. I started a channel years ago (another name) and went after popular tech (tablet gaming at the time) and I got 3200 subs in under 2 months and didn't monetize my vids so they even didn't get promoted by the algorithm. Don't cripple your channel with unpopular opinions like this. I mean, there's little legitimacy to your video and much of your arguments against it are just.. bad ones. I wish your channel all the luck, you do have a professional looking format (waaay better than I had) - but this is a bad video topic and I think you're steering people in wrong directions with bad advice. If this were a pro-deck video you'd be scooping up subs. Honestly, the Deck's only true failing is its battery life - but depending on how you set up your games - it can be stretched out considerably. A video on ways to do that would get you views AND subs. This video is just bad advice (as a Deck and prior Switch owner with a bunch of dusty retro handhelds I wish I hadn't wasted my money on.). Cheers.

You may want to edit the video as this is your personal opinion as why you don't like the features of the Steam Deck compared to a simple yet powerful Nintendo Switch Lite for the average comsumer?A lot of Techies may see this as "offense" like I do but of course we like or not like its OUR personal preference. But to all who are watching this video, PLEASE don't hassle the content creator, I truely believe he's doing the best he can to make some great content He also has another exellent Steam Deck video, go check it out

I got one because 1. It's Valve and 2. AAA games like Elding Ring, Spiderman on the go.

While I appreciate your video I totally disagree with your points, especially about switch games and emulation. Not a single person interested in buying a steam deck says they want to buy it to play switch games. While you can emulate them okay, no one is buying a deck for that purpose. And emulating on these other devices you mentioned are on two different levels. While those system can run games maybe yo to PS1, they want be useful after that. The steamdeck can emulate PS3 games which is no easy taste for many devices. And while yes there’s tinkering that needs to be done to make thing optimal they aren’t huge deal breaks and very simple to do. Most people buying this device are techies, and will have no problem going to Ted it if need be. And lastly even if games say they aren’t playable or unverified, they still work, a lot of the time.

Since getting my steam deck I haven’t touched my Xbox Series X, PS5, or Switch. I’ve been enjoying AAA PC games, older PC games, and retro emulation way too much.

Thanks for this honest review! It really helped me to figure out if this would be a worthwhile purchase or not.

Yeah the switch is only 199$ at the cheapest price point and 350$ at the highest, you can pay 50$ and emulate it and much more on the deck. Not to mention that games are stupid expensive on the switch and you also have to pay monthly for online, you’ll end up paying more for the switch. The same games release on steam for cheaper. You can also download any switch game for free on the deck. And yeah it’s technically illegal but who gives a fuck

HeadShoht

Emulation on the switch requires Nintendo switch online, which is paid for monthly and is not a one-time purchase.

I am one of those who despise the Steam Deck. But there aren't any Ps2, and Gamecube emulation capable device in the $300 price range, that got enough power to play most of those games. You looking at the range of $500-$600
