When telling something to the parent they did or say in the past that really hurt their kid and their answer is: "I never said that, it must be just a dream"

When divorced parents tell you to live with the other parent, pretty much saying neither of them want you

The most toxic my parents told me is that " I just want gifts from ppl and am greedy" 🙃

That last one is so true

And in my own experience, my parents say "your other parent doesn't want you".
Also the "you're useless", and "you're so fat" or some shit like that. Why are you forcing a child into someone they aren't? Why ruin their body image and self esteem from such a young age?

When they talk about abandonment, comparing you to other kids, wishing they never had you, saying your a waste of their time, and making you insecure about your figure.

It’s even worse when you have siblings.

My dad told me "I went to court for you" when I was like...9. It felt very weird.

My mum telling me I’m a drop kick and is good at nothing and then a few years prior, she fractured my knee. Couldn’t even tell you why to this day the drop kick one was just a few weeks ago OH and she said there is something wrong with me and sent me to some place to check if there actually was something wrong with me, but my dad never hits me or says anything like that to me and he pulled me out that special Ed class early and took me to get hot dogs, I love my dad😅

It would honestly be when they say “You should’ve been aborted”

It’s just makes someone shutdown

"Don't you feel disgusting when you look in a mirror?"
I have an eating disorder, makes me unable to stop eating.
Appareantly they were trying to motivate me to work out by making me hate my body.

I'm a victim of the 2nd post and that's just the general broad version

When they call you useless when you mess up and encourage the fu** out of you when you succeed. There's no in between.

Saying something like “You get your (negative trait) from your (other parent)”

Especially when after they say bad things about the other parent they compare the child to them.

"You don't do enough" that hurts. Like I'm sorry mum that I have bad mental health and find things hard to do. Atleast I do stuff to help you unlike most of the people you could've ended up with, you could've ended up with a child that doesn't do anything, atleast I try

I had one time where my dad called me a baby because I couldn’t understand precalculus. I have learning disability, so it really hurt me. After that my mom talked to him, he apologize. I think it still bothers him how much he hurt me. Everything good now, my parents are good people. My dad just get mad about math because he so good at it. I don’t take math anymore because every time I ask for help I would be cry screaming. He’s apologized for all that too, so a nice happy ending.
