People want to feel like they matter at work, that they are valued and they’ll be missed if they’re not there.
For employers, managers, and leaders, here are 8 organizational strategies for mattering an employee engagement tips. This should increase retention and improve job satisfaction. And even if you’re not in a manager role, consider doing these things so that you can contribute to building a positive work environment and driving organizational success:
1️⃣ Ask people what they need to succeed at work (00:42)
2️⃣ Take time out of what is absolutely required of you to help support them (00:46)
3️⃣ Invest in their development of their skills and their growth (00:53)
4️⃣ Ask them what they want to do next or where else they can go in the organization (01:00)
5️⃣ Reference things that they have said or that they have written to show that you have been paying attention (01:07)
6️⃣ Notice when they are not in a meeting you expected them to be in by saying, “I was hoping to see you there." (01:15)
7️⃣ Compliment them on the way they did the work and not just the outcome of their work (01:24)
8️⃣ Ask your employees what parts of the work give them energy and take away energy (01:34)
