This lesson for beginners teaches you to learn how to play the C Major scale on the piano. The C Major scale has zero sharps and zero flats, so it is common for students to learn the C Major scale first.
The C Major scale along with the other major scales are essential in becoming a better piano student. Scales can be made up of a varying number of notes, but the major and minor scales are made up of 8 notes. Be sure to check out my other lesson tutorials to learn more about how to play the piano and music theory.

Hey Kevin,
It is perfectly normal to have trouble putting both hands together at first. I would master each hand separately first, then put them together VERY SLOWLY, like one note at a time. Hand coordination is something that comes over a long period of time, but you can manage if you slow things down to make sure you are using the correct fingering with each note.

Hey,
I just answered Kevin's question. It is normal to have trouble playing both hands at the same time. When putting both hands together, it is important to go VERY SLOWLY. Approach the scale note to note and check when you move from one note to the other that both hands are using the correct fingering. Coordination with both hands is something that requires slow practice and develops over a long period of time.

Having a lot of fun on this lessons. Up to now, practicing both hands at the same time as been easy. Now it requires a little more to combine the two. Somehow, on occasion I come up a finger short at the end when I speed up. Working on the muscle memory. Great lessons!

I just started taking piano lessons 2 weeks ago on January 8th. I am determined to learn how to play. It's been a dream I've had for a long time. I'm in a class with a lot of others and I feel overwhelmed. Thank you for your lessons on You Tube. You are helping me so much. I know I have a long way to go. This lesson # 11 was the best one so far. I have to practice now. I'll be in touch.

Good afternoon Tim: Thanks again for this helpful DIY videos, I have a question. Understanding that there are individual variations and differences in the amount of practice time, like around how long could we expect to acquire basic both hands coordination assuming we practice 30 min a day 4 times a week?!

Thank you!  Needed help with the fingering on the bass clef.  Played according for 16 years and the transition on the left hand is somewhat difficult.

Thanks a lot for these lessons! They've been really helpful to me.
There's only one questoin I have: should I already play with two hands synchronised at this level? Im able to play sever scales with the right fingering on decent speed, but It's impossible for me play with the both hands at the same time. Should I go further in your cousre, or its better to practice the casual Cmajor scale a little more?
Thanks once again for what you're doing
