The problem with story 4(?) isn't the kid who wanted the game, it was the the parent who threw his weight, the bosses who caved and the manager who accepted losing a good worker for literally doing his job. This is something you'd take to court and sue for unfair dismissal.

John is not a jerk. John told the other guy that he was going to start ignoring everything he said that used the word Jack and he still continued to call him jack. The other guy asked to be ignored and deserved to get fired!

There was an update to the gf who got mad at her boyfriends guy nights. Apparently all the bfs would go out to the bar and hook up with girls apart from one. But he knew and said nothing. I think most of them broke up with their bfs’s but one girl went back.

Listening to this like a podcast. Halfway through I realized that most of this conflict could've easily been avoided if people had more common sense and is more understanding.

#6 sue the company for unlawful dismissal, drag the kid AND his father to the court too. and if they happen to get away with it (seems like the father has some weight in the society) bring it to the media. definitely NOT a jerk

Hardest thing I’ve been through: One night when I was 11 I randomly felt homesick while I was visiting my dad and something between both of my parents must’ve hit a breaking point because they both separately talked about my life and a bunch of random stuff that wasn’t even important. My dad took me home and told me to wait in the car. And both of my parents just unloaded on each other I could hear and see everything through the windshield and I just sat in the passengers seat and cried as they fought like I’ve never seen them fight before. It’s my least favorite memory and that incident still has some lasting effects on me regarding both of my parents.

That one about firing the dude for policy, should have the manager sued for unlawful termination

In the story about the dental trays, no op isn't the jerk nor should op apologize. In fact, I think op should run NOT walk away from the relationship because if the boyfriend can lie so easily about that, how can op trust ANYTHING he says.

Regarding the Story 4, the Baby named Karen:
He is not the Jerk, quite the opposite. Everyone else is the Jerk for allowing damage to a baby being done by calling the name lovely. He was the only good person in the room, for he stood up and risked being at the receiving end of hostility to help that baby. That is one of the things that for me make the difference between an acquaintance or buddy and a close friend. A true friend is someone who is willing to get into a heated argument with you to protect you from making a big mistake. A true friend values protecting your well being over not ruining the mood.

As far as baby talk couple I'm betting that there was more than one conversation with his partner about this prior to this incident. She probably was very much aware of how much he hated it and how much it humiliated him. He was not the jerk for this unless he left her without the resources to obtain other transportation!

Story #2: I’m religious, and even I gasped when I read what friend b said. That type of malicious religion is NOT what my religion is about… I’m Catholic, and I don’t know what denomination friend b claims to be, but WOW! OP was justified. God’s not about punishing you. And friend b is highly misunderstanding the Bible. I sincerely hope and pray for friend a’s healing.

14:30 if he can get his dad to fire a worker for following company policies, why can’t he get his father to go and get the game ???

In my opinion, the one that wanted the same gift as the stepbrother is Not A Jerk. The parents should treat the kids equally. I know from experience how hurtful it is to be treated differently like that. When my brother in law got remarried, all three of his wife's kids got a car for their 16th birthday. When my niece (my BIL daughter) turn 16, she got nothing. They were suppose to go on a trip out of state for her, but then the wife decided she wanted to go somewhere else that she liked. She hated that the trip was for my niece, so she decided they would go somewhere else where it would be about her (she likes everything to be focused on her 🙄). Anyways, a few months ago, my niece was able to get a car that she is currently working and paying for herself. We can write a book on all the things this woman does lol
