Very good Video! My A7III is almost 2 Years old now and at the Time, i bought it already used, but in good Shape and is it still rocking and rolling and never has let me down. The Picture Quality is still amazing, even on larger Prints and Lowlight.. Well you metioned it already. I personally whould NEVER give that Camera away.

This was my first full frame/ mirror less camera! Best choice I made! I had the T3I before it died. And this year my wife gifted me the A7r4!! I think i have everything i need… well maybe more glass. Can’t have enough of that!

What a timely video. Just last night, I was contemplating whether to go ahead and get the A7R IV or wait for the A7R-V rumored to be released this summer. The A7-iii continues to be my primary (only) camera as I concentrated on building my lens collection first. I still enjoy shooting with my A7iii for many of the reasons you stated, not to mention the functionality that I've not yet tapped into even after 2.5 yrs. of ownership. I prefer the flip screen over the articulated ones; thus, I'm leaning towards the A7R-IV as I suspect Sony will finally cave and equip the A7R-V with an articulated screen. Either way, even with the next purchase, my A7-iii isn't going anywhere since it was my first Sony camera and holds a special place in my ever-evolving photography journey.
Great video; thanks for the perspective

I completely agree "A good sensor is the key component of a camera in the long term", went from g9>A&7SIII and my mine was blown away with what I was missing out on by not picking the A7III all those years back. I also use the Samyang 35mm f1.8 as one of my favorite small lenses ever. Cheers!

For me the A7III remains, even today, the mirrorless with the best value for money, followed only by the Panasonic S5.

Great review as always. In regards to lenses for the A7III, would you prefer 20 1.8g + 85 1.8 or 24-70 2.8 Sigma?

Thanks for this review. Very technical and to the point. Just ordered my first Sony A7iii after years of renting and borrowing A7s ii and a6400. I decided I wanted to go with a full frame 35mm sensor without totally breaking the bank. A7iii seems like the sweet spot, not too old but also not the latest and greatest tech at outrageous pricing. Will mostly be using for low light video shooting but will be looking forward to using it for some amateur photography.

Great video! I’m stuck between the a7iii and a7c. I shoot street/travel with 60% photo and 40% video. Which would you prefer? It the color science same? Some say a7c is upgraded colors.

Great video, keep coming!

I Bought 2nd hand a73 at 4k shutter by 1200€ when a74 published. Very happy after two years with Olympus gear which I felt some how compromised/limited in action shooting(Iso, af/afc, dr). Casual shooting mft had crop penalty with vintage lenses. I like how sony activates focuspeaking when vintage lens is on. No need to push the button as It is with Olympus. Im very happy to use affordable samyang primes and tamron 28-200mm. Even more compact than my oly setup.

I’ve been shooting for quite sometime with my A6400 and I just bought this A7iii to be my first full frame, so exited

How does it compare to the A7Riii in terms of noise and low light capabilities? I'm so torn between them and which one to get.

Have you ever considered a PayPal link/tip jar? I'm not purchasing new equipment at this time, so therefore can't use affiliate links to help support the content creators whose work I find of value, but I always am willing to contribute with a donation.

Would you compare the Sony A7III better to Fujifilm X-S10? price difference wise not so much difference but the latest fuji have features that are very attractive, having a hard choice to get fuji or sony atm

I bought it on sale at Best Buy in August of 2022 for $1, 800. I picked up a Sigma Art f/2.8 24-70mm for another $900. I don’t regret my decision. I do look longingly at cameras that cost more than mine, due to the newer features that have come out since my purchase… but I don’t regret this purchase decision.

All of the cons he mentions in this video are felt though. The menus are only a mild annoyance; you really do start to make sense of them after a while - but when you see what Sony replaced it with - it looks 10 times better. The screen and viewfinder are pretty bad. I’m definitely jealous of what my Canon friends use. While we’re on the Canon subject: I’m envious of the ergonomics Canon brings to the table. That said: I’d still be saving money if I went with a Canon camera. Furthermore: now that I’m starting to experiment with video, I definitely wish I had eye tracking so I didn’t have to rely fully on manual focus. No one really talks about this, but unless I’m just poorly educated on the matter - the AF in video mode is awful. Awful isn’t really a strong enough word, really - but my friend that owns a whole video production company told me that I should take the time to learn how to use MF because the higher up in quality you go, the more stuff comes with no AF available.

So anyway, if you can get it on sale from somewhere between $1, 400-$1, 800? Yeah, buy it. I probably wouldn’t pay full price for this though.

july 2022 i am getting body only for roughly same price below three, which do you recomend: a73 vs a7c vs a6600.
thanks.

My A7iii is a little unique. I purchased it new as a full spectrum converted camera. So, I have a camera for UV, Visible light, and Infrared. Due to this conversion the low pass filter is removed. I have a magnetic OEM IR/Cut drop in filter that I can place over the sensor so that I have a backup visible light camera. BTW: The Tamron 28-75 G1 is one of the best zooms in that focal range for infrared.

I'm still using and loving my A7R3. Can't imagine I'd upgrade unless this one died.

I currently have an opportunity to purchase between a9 vs a7iii with the price difference of $250 in between them used, the a9 being the slightly more expensive. In this case of mine, which would you go for?

I'll use the camera mainly to take a pic of my family and one very fast, never-never-stopping-boy of mine, family event, travel, and some light videos. Gonna want to keep the camera for at least 4 years and by then, my boy most likely already do some sports events at school.

Thanks in advance! Great video
