Yes, obestiy is genetic. Have a listen to how obesity can be genetic - it isn't just about the food. With the FTA gene, the Thrifty gene hypothesis, there is some evidence to show that obesity is genetic. If that IS true for you, then taking precautions, i.e., a low carb diet, medications, or even surgery, might be helpful.
