11-Day Wilderness Trout Fishing Trip | Solo Camping & Canoeing

A trip that started ugly then got beautiful. Challenging travel up the West Aubinadong River past Megisan Lake. 10 nights, 38 portages (much to my surprise), and *countless* trout. One of the best trips of my life.

This route is typically known as the Ranger Lake loop and travels up into Algoma Headwaters Provincial Park.

This is a re-release of the 2018 Algoma Headwaters videos series. I wanted to re-release it for a few reasons: (1) looking back, I wasn't satisfied with the original edit and I liked the idea of making it a long format video, (2) this was one of the best trips of my life and I enjoy sharing it, and (3) because this is a great time to be thinking about ice-out trout trips :)

Love the loons. Best part of the trip . I miss that we use to listen to them on Meziadian Lake in Northern BC . Lived on that lake for 35yrs .
