Used to do the exact same thing with my pappy who raised me, he passed of lung cancer in October 2006, two months before my 16th birthday but taught me how clean and gut my first fish at 12 . Rainbow trout, perch, bluegills, Sunny's, and brown/Brook trout. All on corn, meal worms, spinners, you name it!! Good memories, when life was better!

Looks delicious! I also feel like you can’t go wrong with lots of butter and some lemon juice when cooking seafood!

Watching this brings back fond memories of spending time camping on islands as a kid in the morth woods of MN. We used to cook fish and crawfish on the coals of a fire. I feel so fortunate that I was able to spend 7-10 days at a time at 12 years old fending for myself in the wilderness of MN. At the same time i cant imagine letting my children do that at that age

Simple, easy, and probably the best meal you could’ve wanted at the time. Anyone who doesn’t ever do what your doing is missing out on the beautiful and simple way of enjoying the outdoors, catching some fresh fish and having a meal that didn’t require any thing but pure fun. Perfect video my friend. Perfect!!!

When it’s survival in the wild every catch you get is a blessing

When people ask me what my dream job would be, I just point them to this channel. This guy gets to stay in the wild most of the time AND gets paid for it (at least I hope YouTube pays him enough 😅)

“These little things put up a good fight, and they taste good” exactly what I say when I see birds in my backyard.

Not only feeding yourself, but having fun doing it! 😉👍

Sounds like my kind of day! I like your idea of using green sticks as a grill. I usually use a cast iron or flat rock, but I bet they get a lot more of that good smoky flavor using your stick grill. I'll have to try

I like how you cook your fish hole. Most youtubers bring a filet board and a filet knife and a Propane.
Or charcoal grill.. And I think that's pretty generic. Love your videos.

Nothing like catching and cooking up the fish you caught yourself. It's quite rewarding!
