IS SUPERIOR THE WORLD'S BIGGEST LAKE?
1:28:11 Superior is the world's biggest freshwater lake by surface area. Caspian Sea is bigger but it's just a part of the ocean that got disconnected and now has 1/3 of the salinity so I feel iffy about its classification as a lake. Some would argue that it's Lake Baikal which is much deeper and with more volume (though way less surface area) but that's not much good unless you own a submarine. "World's largest freshwater lake on earth by surface area" doesn't work in a title.

“I suffered another injury however. I sacked myself swatting a mosquito”. Best line of the video Jon. That beaver dam was a good size. Neat trip. Like another world out there on those islands it seems.

In the video he says how much he would like to film for National Geographic but interesting enough has the natural ability to make the content and then channel himself. Amazing content and good filming/photography.

Your videography and storytelling are wonderful! I especially enjoy the closeups of flowers and critters. You carried me back nearly a half century to my younger days exploring the lakes and streams of southern Yukon and northern B.C. in my Folbot. I can barely walk now, and my eyesight is so poor I can hardly make out a squirrel in a tree, much less the stars on a clear night. But on my large computer monitor and speakers, your video brings to me the sights and sounds of nature I so love. The call of the loon, the slap of a beaver's tail, the lap of water on a rocky shore, wind in the canopy, the roar of breakers on a troubled lake. Thank you for enriching my life!

I also appreciate your setting a good example of managing risk. Adventures are much more rewarding when you survive them. Hopefully your example will encourage young adventurers to exercise better judgement and live longer to share their tales.

This was the first video of yours I have come across, but I certainly look forward to watching more. And, I will watch this one again. I was delighted to take the opportunity to subscribe. May your excursions be many, safe, and rewarding. May your memories be warm and satisfying, and may you always have someone you love, and who loves you, to share them with.

Some people go to Disneyland and talk about the “magic” but these views and experiences on Superior were what I consider “magical”. Very well done, professional grade vid. I loved this!

Your content is just "superior, " literally! It just puts me at peace and in such a wonderful mood. You should consider turning your videos into Imax form. It would be splendid to see. With the music you add and the sound effects coming from the lake, birds, etc, it would be a hit. Thank you for letting me live my dreams vicariously through you. As a fellow nature lover, where I live, we don't have too many beautiful places like this. You truly are a master of your crafts, John.

I almost seldom leave comments on any videos. However, I am so grateful that you take us along on your adventures so we can take in the scenery that we may otherwise ever see. You make so many ppl happy. Your stories, scenery, everything is so fantastic!! Nothing is more satisfying than discovering that you have a new video uploaded. There are other channels that can compete with the beauty that your videography manages to capture. Thank you, Jon!!!

You continue to out do yourself. Love this trip, photography and music exceptional. My parents took us kids to lakes in Canada in the late 50's. Portaging between lakes, big fish moose, memories. I'm now 70 and can no longer even dream of doing what you do. So I can watch you continue to deliver outstanding content, good on you. Whats up with Erin? We miss her. Oh and some of the funniest parts are your short conversations with yourself.

Wow, John, WOW!!!!
What a wonderful trip! Thank you for doing what you do.
I’m from Michigan and have always been in love with Lake Superior, but you are capturing what I’ll never see in person. You are perfecting your skills and those who watch are benefiting from your dedication.
Nat Geo can’t hold a candle to what I just watched. Again…thank you!

What a beautiful area, 40 years ago l explored the same areas with my soul mate. Natural areas like that shout out in a loud voice to the Almighty and his wisdom. Thank you for letting us relive our old stomping grounds.

Jon,
This was a magical video. One of your best. I love how your travel is dictated by the weather. You summed it all up with the last night's unreal sky. Definitely the best 1.5 hours I will spend today. It is so cool you see you put in the work to get out there and gain the rewards of all the beauty that nature offers. Lake Superior is unreal.
