This reminds me of being a kid. My dad was a bush pilot and we used to fly into the most remote lakes. We never saw anyone. It’s crazy how many cabins you can find though. Your videos always give me a dose of northern roots vibe. Thanks!

Damn John, your eye for beauty and the ability to showcase it is phenomenal!!! I love that you seem more confident in this video. You are my favorite channel! You make Canada seem like the most beautiful place on earth. You are truly talented. I absolutely love following your adventures.

Sorry for the delay...vid was uploaded yesterday morning and YT had been processing it since (usually this takes no time). Please let me know if you notice any quality issues in audio or video

These videos are heartbreakingly beautiful, just a perfect balance of serene nature, narrative storytelling, outright goofiness and fishing. You travel like I travel, except I'd fish more (and likely not get too far). The bag of Scotch is just lovely. I don't want to sound too corny, but I really feel like I'm there with you...actually, in a way, it feels like I'm experiencing it all vicariously. It's just wonderful.

I don't think we, your viewers, need a reason for your trip (ie "find the go-pro", "catching another weird fish"). We're just glad to be out there - wherever - seeing what you see, vicariously experiencing the paddle thru you. It's a joy. Paddle on! :) 🍁

Jon - what makes Lost Lakes such an enjoyable channel to watch is simply that whatever happens just happens. For me, it’s the beauty you find in the minutiae along the way. It’s your humble attitude and ever present respect for nature. It’s the excitement you exude when you may or may not make it into a hidden lake you’ve been studying on a map and imagining for months. It’s the way you describe feelings we all have (if social media and cellphones are a disease, this is the cure; or in another video when you talked about how you can’t hardly enjoy a moment of pure serenity without at the same time worrying how we as a species are destroying it). Don’t worry about what you will or won’t find or experience on your journeys. It’s the unknown / unscripted / genuine nature of these videos that keeps me hooked.

Unrelated, I just ordered my first hammock and am eagerly awaiting delivery. I’ll be sure to give you a shout out in the review. Also, I ordered some LL merch - the truckers cap. It’s a great cap, but my head looks stupid in it :). If you get a chance, I’d happily re-order it as a regular (i.e., non trucker) style cap.

WOW, hiking into those falls and their lake must have been really special. I loved when you sent the drone up above the falls and you could see the canyon it was flowing through and multiple other pools leading to the falls. You made some good lemonade out of the trip cancellation. :)

This was quite an impressive video to watch. What a nice area and the photography was awesome. Thanks for sharing it. You have a way of making such a trip something very memorable to come along with in viewing.
Thanks.

Well doing the French river with my children we found that termite infested wood burns slow. We put it in a can in our canoe. The smoke keep the horse fly’s and mosquitoes away. I believed we learned the trick from the Survivorman. It has something to do with the termites burning that keeps them away.👍👍❤️🇨🇦

Wow, Jon, the scenery was just incredible. It's too bad the fishing was so spotty, but the pure gorgeousness of everything else made up for it. Another wonderful relaxing video!

To me, canoe camping is the best. Actually any aquatic adventure is great, but being in the wilderness with a canoe is the best.
