I went from an i5 7400 to an i5 12600k and wow the performance lift is something else, i was going to get the i7 12700k but just didn't feel the need to and im happy that i just went with the i5 12600k as it blast through everything I do. So i would say going from an i5 7400 to an i5 12400 would be a very nice upgrade as the IPC uplift, alone makes it worth it

OOOOH yeeeeah, finally another video with my i5 7400, last your video was comparison with 12100f. Yeah 7400 rocks, enough for 3-4 more years

I went from my 7600K to my 10900K (I tried to go R7 5800X but it was too new and unstable) and now my 7600K runs my server.

The difference between 12th gen and 7th is bigger than the difference between 7th gen and 1st gen. Crazy. If for some reason you're here to see if 7500 is worth it from a "i have nothing" pov, just get the 6500. It's the exact same chip, but cheaper. Then you can upgrade later when the time is right

What is not great about this comparison is that the difference just comes from the weird pairing with a pretty high end gpu.
Drop that down to a more appropriate low end gpu and thhe difference between the two is not that great.

Yeah it's an obvious upgrade. I upgrade my entire PC every 6 years, because at that point everything is simply much faster. No comprises should be made.

i understand you took a 3070ti to remove gpu bottlenck.
But actually, most people had even less gpu performance.
i think on a 2017 system, the gpu should be changed along the cpu.

Tho, that's an amazing upgrade, 100% worth doing :D

The diffrence would be 10% if you chose appropriate gpu to the cpu

I'ts interesting to see how much less is GPU utilized on 7400.. I thought it doesn't matter bc you need to always use 100% but i was wrong .

it is cpu bootleneck... but if you need 100fps more, , better you can upgrade to gen 12 of course...
for me, my old i3 9100 + gtx 1060 6gb is more than enough for daily gaming ( medium set )

Hi!, I have a question, Im considering this upgrade, but im worried about the fact that the gpu usage is always +%90. Is this due to the fact that the 12400F does not have an integrated graphics card? I dont like high temperatures, and for long periods of gaming, it might be an issue. Hope you can help me!

Doesn't make much sense tbh, my 7400 is 100% in any game and there is no way it would be able to pull Cyberpunk high present in respectful 50fps
