i7 6700k vs i7 7700 vs i5 12400F - Big Differences?

In this video I'm testing the Intel i7 6700k vs the intel i7 7700 vs the Intel i5 12400F in different games like Warzone and Cyberpunk. The Intel i7 6700k came out in 2015, it has 4 cores and 8 threads. The base frequency is 4GHz, while the turbo frequency is 4.2GHz with a TDP of 91W. The Ryzen 5 3600 is already almost 4 years old, but it still holds up pretty good, even in recent games. The Intel i7 7700 came out in the beginning of 2017, it has 4 cores and 8 threads. The standard frequency of the i7 7700 is 3.6GHz and the turbo frequency is 4.2GHz. The i7 7700 has a TDP of 65W. The Intel i5 12400F came out in 2022, it has 6 cores with 12 threads and runs on the LGA 1700 socket. It has a frequency of 2.5GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.40GHz with a TDP of 117W. It uses 10nm cpu technology and can use DDR4 and DDR5. In this video, DDR4 RAM is used.

We cannot see the CPU differences due to bottleneck. You need to lower the resolution or graphic settings to make the game use more CPU rather than GPU.

Crazy how the I7 6700k is still keeping up to this day

I'm running a 6700K and RTX3070 - Cyberpunk at 1080p cannot keep 60fps. Yes it can go even 100Fps att times, but as soon as you are a in a busy area the FPS dips down to 40ties and there is traversal stutter. Also RT is a no go, because it increases CPU load even more.

Skylake is dead now for AAA games. Its ok for most other games though like indie titles and older AAA games. It did a good job for 10 years, time to give it a rest.
