Real foot doctor shows how to find your REAL shoe size for basketball, tennis and other court sports sneakers such as padel, volleyball, badminton and handball. Most athletes struggle with finding their ideal shoe size when playing and its even harder now that most of us buy our shoes online and its getting more difficult to figure out what shoe size you should buy when shopping online for sneakers.

Because performance athletic shoes and sneaker serve such different purposes than regular shoes its important to find your baseline shoe size in these court shoes vs regular shoes

Thank you for the video. I find the best system to measure your foot is to stand against a straight wall with heel touching the wall and to put a piece of a4 paper under the foot and trace your foot on that piece a paper. Then use a measuring tape to measure the longest toe to heel. That will give you the size in cms. Then when ordering shoes look for the size in cms (japan uses this system) and see if it matches up to your size. Because a size 7 US female for Nike may be 23.5 cm for example and a size 7 for Addidas may be 24 cm, etc…the companies run different sizes against cm. The cm seem more consistent.

Wish this came out years ago. After decade plus of knee pain, back pain, pf, metatarsal pain, i found out i should go up 3 SIZES. I have short but relatively wide feet and a very high midfoot. Spent so much on therapy, sleeves, insoles, shoes etc

By chance i received big Ultraboosts as a gift and that’s when i found out ive been measuring wrong. Now that i use the right size, no pain no accessories. Just needed the shank a little forward and not bend my metatarsals.

I am now just seeing this video Branick put me at 10.5. I tried 10.5 for bball shoes in Nike and WoW, then I tried 11 but even then my toes would push the top of the shoes on impact when I dunked or slammed 10ft line in Vball. I went up to 11.5 and found I had adequate space and even produced more power in movement and jump overall.

Another awesome video like always. I measured my foot with the brannock device recently and surprisingly the ASICS Court FF shoes fit my shoes like a glove unlike other brands. Can you please do a video on tennis shoes lacing? I heard certain foot type require different lacing.

Also need to note the shoe material. Real Leather when used will stretch a bit but I find the shoes now use a plastic coated leather and it does not stretch at all. Or the have soft cloth which will stretch or a firm nylon mesh which does not. This will alter how a shoe fits and the comfort you will have

Accurate video. My shoe size according to the brannock device would be like a 7 or 7.5 mens but most shoes I need to get a size 8 or else my pinky toe will rub against the side of the shoe and it's very uncomfortable. So I just have to have a little extra toe room to accommodate my wider feet

This is extremely valuable information. I did the instructions and compared the cutout to pictures of shoes that I previously tried, and it all makes sense now!

I predict this will be an extremely popular video! Especially now with the pandemic and people shopping more online.

This is probably your best video yet - very handy tips! When I buy tennis shoes I usually go half a size larger so I have an index finger worth of wriggle room and so I have enough room to wear thicker socks. Just curious to know if this is actually bad for my feet?

They need more wide fit EE basketball shoes. Nike has none, Adidas has couple, and New Balance has 2 pairs.

thanks for the great info, most shoe reviewer tend to ignore shape and just go state the basic length & if they are wide or narrow footed and not mention shape at all.

I think it would be cool if shoes had volumetric internal space specifications. I feel like the toe box of the Asics Soln Spd ff 2 would be a bit smaller than the ff 1, and aimed to please the Gel Res 7 crowd who are swamped in the 8. Toe box stretch would be a good now - I’m installing my worn insoles to get me some space initially. I am generally unwilling to err on the side of too big for tennis. The one time I did, something bad happened. But I’m also not willing to wear a Cage that’s an entire size too small either. If my footwork were that good - I might consider! Keep up the awesome site! I’d go to the Court ff, but I had the #1 with the bootie and it was too much pressure atop the foot.

How about a video telling us how you came about creating this channel?

It's so damn tricky for us wide footers. Always gotta compromise the length to accommodate for the needed width.

I wish these companies will measure them from the inside. It would make it a lot easier to buy.
My bare foot size in 10. So 11 to have some room. But I wear a 13 4e.
I have to try on like 20 pairs before I find one that fits. Even in the same brand, sizes are different.
My last couple new balance fit perfect the first time. So I'm sticking with that brand. Makes it easier to by online.

I played tennis in college and in my normal size in most athletic shoes including Nike I have a thumb nail space between my toes and the front of the shoe. My Nike shoes for tennis are a whole size smaller. This is because with all of the starting and stopping, I want a shoe that fits like a glove so I don’t slide around in them. Sliding around in the shoes can cause blisters, cause you to roll and ankle and you are going to just be slower moving around. Many tennis players do this including Rafael Nadal.

I’m always between sizes. Size 13 is too tight while 14 is way too long and loose. Nobody makes 13.5 in sneakers.
