Spider-Man Beyond's "Death of Doctor Strange" tie-in comic featuring Ben Reilly and Black Cat working together was... Honestly pretty terrible.

But I do think it had some fantastic dialogue from Ben, even if the writer's intention for it was for us, the readers, to disagree with him.

I like how this perfectly represents Spider-Man's relationship with the New York citizens. No one likes him until they need him.

whoa this why i like ben so much he is so insightful and possibly gives us a version of peter who is solemly serious and respectful not to say peter is respectful and serious at points but mostly we see classic spidey do his usual spiel of trashtalk and lighting the mood with humor

"Never thought I'd die side-by-side with a doctor."
"What about die side-by-side with a friend?"
"*cough* I could do that."

I played Spider-Man for a decade. I was the reliable one, the one who cared, the one you could count on.

Don't ever be a hero. The pain isn't worth it. The pain never leaves. The pain can't be cured, can't be removed. It'll leave you hurting and bitter and frustrated.

Society doesn't want to change for the better. It wants to die and burn.

Fine, then. Die and burn. It's what you all want. I tried to save you all....and I shouldn't have.

I'm not even happy I learned in the end.

They give Ben good monologues and then turn him into a villain. For shame
