How to Pick Your TSA Lock

Have you forgotten the code for your TSA lock?

All you need is a pen and a sharp light.

Make sure you look for the indents from the left side of the dials, not the right side.

I go through this in detail in this video.

Each dial has 10 digits on it. From 0 to 9 makes ten. Slide the dial until you see an indent, then go 5 digits back. That's your number. Do that for all three dials and you've picked the lock.

This works! Thank you sir! My lock wheels are tighter and I didn't believe it would work, but I followed instructions and used a very bright flashlight and pushed the wheel over a tiny bit, and can see the groove. Perfect thank you!

On a somewhat related note, if you’re sure you know the code but the unlock button doesn’t work, take a look at the reset button. If it’s pressed in and you have the right code on the dial, it means it’s stuck. Give it a smack so that the reset button pops out and you’re good.

The video helped me though to make sure I had the right code, didn’t know the grooves are visible :)

What if someone pushed the tiny button on the right while the suitcase was locked? And now it’s not possible to open the lock with any pin.. the button is still pressed down and I can’t “get it out” :(
