not sure if that makes sense as you are testing continuity of something which is already in a circuit... So, the fuse can be broken but the current runs through the rest of the circuit (outside of the fuse).
There's a method where you touch just one side of the fuse at a time - I am still looking for that method :)

Do you have to put the red and or black on a certain point or does it make a difference?

Problem here is to check continuity you should remove fuse, otherwise you are testing the circuit and although fuse can be blown as the rest of circuit is OK, it will give bleep or resistance reading.

My friend, please assume for a moment that those of us watching do not have a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. Pls show the meter and explain what the heck is a “Resistance Mode”. Here is a link to a very basic video for us simple folks.
