The problem has to do with Politicians, they allow the insurance companies to do what ever they want because of (donations ).

Florida insurers donated an estimated $10 million to DeSantis' campaign and other in state GOP front groups. 2 property casualty insurance firms–a subsidiary of Heritage Insurance and People’s Trust Insurance–donated a combined total of $125, 000 to Ron's Inaugural Ball.

Their politicians rather fight WOKE then for their citizens.

We can thank our politicians for allowing insurance companies to do whatever they want to us. This is why we need to get money out of politics.

We need to stop subsidizing insurance in Florida. It's not fit for human habitation.

Only 80%? Mine went from $3400/year to $8200/year with Kin Insurance. Mine is in Escambia County, nowhere near the recently affected storm regions. We were able to adjust down to $7100 before finding a quote for $4200/year.

This is FL's future. Only those who can afford to lose it all once and awhile will stay around. Most there will soon be stuck with only the 'social' option for insurance (Citizens).

Mine doubled from $2k to $4k with Security First, and I have never filed a claim, i'm south of Jacksonville. Time to move out of Florida.

Insurance counts your land as part of the value of your home. The home value of my home is $500, 000. The value of the land is $180, 000 and the value of the house is $320, 000. The land cannot be damaged only the house so why do I need $500, 000 worth of insurance instead of $320, 000?

I live in Okeechobee fl. New house out in the lake area. Not on the lake but 1 mile from it. I will now have to have flood insurance even though I am not in a flood zone. (Even with the lake close by). The lake is not the coastline. But now I will have to pay. Ok fine. People say self insure. Fine if you have your property Paid in full, but not when you have a mortgage. Insurance is required. So you have to accept the industry the way it is. No one in any form of govt. will help the insurance companies lose money!. What people see to forget is you have to pay a premium to live in paradise. Florida is great but we are a very stormy state, period. I knew. Getting into ownership that I could suffer some form of a disaster where I live. The storms here are getting more and more intense by the years. And to add insult to injury, we now have tornados in florida. That’s something Floridians never had to worry about 20 years ago. Hence global warming.

Between Florida home insurance and Texas property taxes, a lot of those who left California are regretting it.

We need national law that keeps federal government from paying for houses in Florida where homeowners don't have insurance.

Time to call Ronald! He’s been really busy lately. Busy removing the rights of women and children. So, don’t think he give toot about your problem unless to foreclose on your home.

Be glad you own a house because the most of people can’t even afford the rent prices in Florida, There are families living in their cars with children. Properties rented for 1600 2 years ago are rented now for 2500 without any improvements, actually not even a fresh paint on the walls.

I was told by Allstate that our insurance here in the Pacific Northwest is high, because we subsidize a portion of your insurance in Florida.

These are rough figures I’m giving but;
Moved here in 2020
First year HO insurance $1500
Second year HO
insurance $3300
Third year (current)HO
insurance $5100

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND QUICKLY. 14 HO insurance companies closed up shop and left, about 6 companies are insolvent… it’s somewhat of a monopoly for the few companies that stayed and homeowners options are few and far between. Unacceptable!
