Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil) is recovering in the hospital after being buried alive. Her training officer, Tim Bradford (Eric Winter), is watching over her and fellow rookies John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and Jackson West (Titus Makin) come to visit as well. I love this moment between Lucy and Tim. He obviously stayed there all night, managed to make her laugh as soon as she woke up and knew how to give her exactly what she wanted. It was BEAUTIFUL

The way that she reaches for him in a clawing motion always catches at my heart. She was clawing to get out of the grave and she knew she was safe once he was there. He also taught her to be a cop, in that moment he was who she needed.

These two are my favorite characters to watch. They're so great together. Tim puts on such a tough guy act and is so demanding. I can't imagine other Rookie's getting very far with him as their TO but Lucy likes that he pushes her to be better. They're both tough but they both care deeply too. I do hope they end up together one day. With the previous threat of being branded for dating a cop, and with Tim being her TO, Lucy will want to resist. And with Tim's previous marriage to a cop ending horribly, he's going to resist too. And then there's risk of distraction if they're working together when they have feelings for each other. It's a great set up for a complicated but beautiful relationship. I would be bitterly disappointed though if they got together in some cheap hook up and then couldn't stand working together. I love them on screen together and want to see more of it, not less.

At 0:40 after Chen asks Bradford if he's been there all night, she says "Mhm", which I just noticed re-watching the scene. Most likely implying she knows he's lying, as he's clearly awful at it haha. A wonderful little scene between them, and I personally hope they end up together!
