My tip i wish i told my younger self earlier:

Proportions are important. Proportioned images are better to see. If the head is turned 3/4 the eyes should be the same height but the one on the side that cant be seen too much is thinner, not smaller.

Know your anatomy. Yes its hard to have a good anatomy when your artstyle doesnt really add up with it, but afterwards, its gonna be really helpful to improve your artstyle.

Use a stabilizer, messy, unstraight (idk the word for that ejdjdjs) and pixely, its really going to be bleh. If the line is stabilized amazingly, the lines will be clean, better and smoother.

Be patient. You cant improve if you want to skip to the part where you just have a good artstyle. Practice your artstyle, shading, shadowing, lighting and coloring base colors. Play with the effects and filters.

You need to know how things look infront, back, sides, bottom, top, literally 360° angle to know the measurements.

Draw everyday. Do several artstyles and see which suits you best. You can have an inconsistent artstyle.

Have a good color palette. Know the primary colors, secondary, the other colors. Know which color compliments a color. For example, baby pink and grey. Its a good color combination. Avoid using too saturated colors, REALLY bright colors except if the art ur doing is like an Arcade, pixel thing (idk what to call it)

Know how the bones work. A body part doesnt always move everywhere. For example, the knee doesnt move 360° so yeah, know how that works.

Know your artstyle. If a certain artstyle doesnt suit u, dont do it. Find a better artstyle. A non artist looking at ur art will notice the artstyle and be like- 🙂, its not THAT enough like, it doesnt suit you. An artist looking at it will notice the artstyle too. Do you tho, find your artstyle too.

Take critics. An artist is never an artist without critics, critical responses are something you can take to do better. For example, you post something on a platform, a comment will say "The hand is kinda unproportioned... Nice art tho", take it as a compliment. Its not something you should be sad about.

Draw everyday to avoid an artblock cuz those suck alot.

I have more but im too lazy-

I've been drawing traditionally for my entire life and only recently I got a digital drawing pad (ones without the screen) to try out digital art.
To my surprise, it was pretty enjoyable at the start even thought I haven't gotten used to the pad itself.
But to be honest my drawing skills just ran away the moment I picked up the pen lmao

Oh, my god. I'm speechless.
Been drawing for about 15 years now. I've had the occasional "Ohhhh!" moments when it came to art style and anatomy skill where there was a sudden leap in the quality of my stuff... but that hasn't happened in years now and I feel like I plateaued so hard with no progression. Everything I draw looks identical even if drawn in a different style entirely, and I felt so set in my ways that I was scared to try anything else.
But this taught me about things I didn't even know existed or know that I'd have really wanted.

Try to draw difficult pictures. I know it's frustrating sometimes, but the experience you gain is worth it .
