I'm applying 50% of your tips (daily sketching, sharing artwork, copying artists, and some other things) for almost two months and now i feel my skills are increasing so fast! I found an old sketchbook (4 months old haha) and i'm so much happier with my work now... thank you for sharing your tips!

I always shake my head whenever I hear people say using reference is cheating or wrong.
You need to know what something looks like to be able to recreate it!
It's just about how to use references, like tracing a reference image isn't good obviously.

I feel like i'm the only person who draws maybe like once a year, and each time my drawings improve drastically, even after not drawing for awhile

I only copy the best of the best and only the things I like about them, and that goes for anything. And when I draw, one of the people I copy are you Eric because the way you draw is so awesome. I think you hit a great point between stylization and realism.

At the stop being perfectionist part, I completely agree with it.
It's what's been holding me back for the past 6 years of mental torture hahah

"Copy your favorite artists"
Well, let's start by copying this sketch lol

People, stop.
Stop being rude and just accept it. You can't know what he did and didn't do on purpose.
Now shut this useless argument

Also another tip that helped me out, is that if ur bad at something for example for me it was noses, just get a piece of paper and draw that thing over and over, and try to simplify it, like make it into simple shapes and that helped me out a lottt

I've been drawing digitally for four months now and your videos have been such a huge help. You've opened my eyes to techniques I haven't thought of and made me think in ways not only about my artwork but my approach and general attitude to art that are really healthy and positive. Thank you so much!
