From what I’ve heard here’s a summary:

If you need to do REALLY power intensive & use really pro apps, like editing big videos on Final Cut Pro, the iPad Pro won’t replace your computer.

If you just use your laptop for simple games or other simple things, it works great as a replacement, maybe with a few downgrades that may depend on your opinion (like how much you care about a large keyboard, etc.)

I am in 2nd year in college (electrical engineering) i use my iPad 6 for taking notes with the apple pencil, reading PDFs / books, submitting assignments on google forms, making word documents and ppts, playing games like pubg, pes 2019 and browsing the web i bought an inexpensive bluetooth keyboard which works perfectly fine with it and the iPad lineup is one of apple's best!
I find myself reaching for my laptop when i have to do programming, or video editing or 3d modelling.

I’ve just replaced my MacBook Pro after 7 years with the 12.9 iPad Pro. Ordered the Hyper Drive and I don’t think I’ll need to go back.

Also, the Logitech Slim Folio has 2 viewing angles. The mini flap at the bottom folds in on itself to give you a 2nd angle.

Personally, my main reason why I love my iPad Pro is because it doesn’t feel like a laptop, and I hope it stays this way, I even bought a keyboard that I never used

I use my iPad Pro in conjunction with a desktop, it fully replaced my laptop though.. haven’t touched it for over 6 months! Love the iPad Pro!

I am a programmer so I need a terminal, and tools for programming. When not working I love the iPad Pro, and can replace the laptop for basic computer needs, which is amazing.

I am a student at an iPad school, and I can say that it works really well and could replace a laptop in most circumstances, but overall hard desktop work a laptop or PC would probably get the job done better though. The iPad is very convenient though.

I use the my 12.9 inch iPad Pro for school and I take notes, scan documents study and do homework on it. I use the  pencil,  slim keyboard folio case, Magic Mouse, and the hyper drive usb hub. It’s a dream come true!

My iPad Pro 2 12.9” has been getting pretty close to replacing my computer. At university, I often don’t even bother bringing my laptop as my iPad, it’s Smart Keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse can do pretty much anything my computer can. However when I am coding, I do still need a laptop as it’s very difficult to code on an iPad.

I use Bluetooth keyboards, the Logitech K480 and K780 keyboards. 1. Each can be paired with and switch between multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, etc.). 2. Each one has a built-in tablet stand. (2 really fun and awesome selling points for me)

For me, it can. All the things I use a laptop for can be done on my iPad Pro, plus more. However, there are some downsides and also advantages of using my iPad Pro over a laptop but overall, iPad Pro > Laptop

For me personally, my iPad Pro 11” replaces my iMac. I have the Logitech slim folio keyboard and love it. I also have a 1st gen IPad Pro 12.9”. I had the Apple keyboard for that one but ended up selling the keyboard because it drained they battery of my ipad super quick. I also home school and my child is able to use e very program and/or website necessary to complete all her work each week with no issues! I still have my iMac (which is now 6 years old and slowing down), and I’m on the fence as to whether to replace the iMac with a 12.0” iPad Pro with keyboard or another iMac or a MacBook Air. I’ve have many iPads since they originally came out and I am a huge fan, and even bigger fan now that iPad OS came out. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I think this is definitely one of the best iPad laptop reviews I’ve seen. Most reviewers always say it can’t replace a laptop because of video editing but I don’t make any videos I just want it as a illustration student so it’s very confusing
