Lucifer's rebellion was unprovoked. God had given him the highest position with the greatest honors. But it was not enough. He wanted to be worshipped as God and the position is taken. If it were possible... (and it's not)... And he had succeeded... He's would have done great Evil to God and the Angels who wouldn't Rebel. It is mutiny of the highest order. It cannot be forgiven. Even if God could forgive him, Satan would not change. He might repent with his mouth..but his character would still be to overthrow God again.

If it were like that, Satan could still repent as even the most evil people can repent amd be forgiven. Satan can never be saved become he has commited (and continues to commit) the unforgivable sin which is to deny/reject the Holyness of something you know to be Holy
