I used to question why Satan can't be forgiven, but after debating with many atheists I've noticed a trend where they are incapable of admission of being wrong and will use any sophistry they can to "win" the argument. An important part of repentance is admission of wrongdoing. I think Satan and the fallen angels have rendered themselves incapable of repenting through their wicked nature. It's not that forgiveness is closed to them, but that they are incapable of even asking for it sincerely.

It's so interesting that the distinction of what the Lucifer and the fallen angels was done *with full knowledge and awareness* was highlighted. In contrast, Jesus said on the cross as *humans* were sinning, 'Forgive them, Father, for *they know not what they do*." What a difference! Our sin is still sin, but it's done with a level of ignorace as to have vast and impactful the evil it imposes truly is.

A common misconception is that evil is actively going against God. The truth is closer to the letting go of connection to God. God alone is self-sustaining. If Lucifer looked to himself and let go of his dependence on God, then and there Lucifer lost his sustenance and began to be corrupt.

We are those fallen angels, now incarnated in human forms. And in this form, thru accepting Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross, we can redeem ourselves, and be angels again.
