Windows Vista vs Windows Server 2008: Speed test and Memory Usage

Specs used for each virtual machine:
VMware Workstation 10
4 GB of RAM
40 GB virtual hard disk
AMD FX 8320 8 core processor ~3.5 ghz (all 8 cores enabled for each VM)
Song: Unknown, just found it on a youtube video one day
Well shockingly, Windows Vista managed to beat Windows Server 2008 in the first couple of tests, but Windows Server 2008 clearly outshines Vista in most of the tests.

Windows Server 2008 may be quicker at file operations because the defragmenter schedule is disabled by default. I've always preferred Server 2008 over Vista because of that and many other things. The automatic disk defragging was one of the things that made Windows Vista slow on period hardware. It would try and defragment the hard drive while it was in use, which just put too much load on it and killed the poor drive, or sometimes just the file system.

I know why server 2008 lost on the boot test, its because it wasn't built for fast boot times, it was built for 24-7 operation therefore defeating the need for fast boot times.
