Windows vs. Windows Server | Speed Test. How does a $1000 server OS compare to an ordinary consumer OS in benchmarks and real-world tests? This was very interesting…

Win Server by default typically runs the CPUs less hard / more efficiently for multicore processes, thereby causing the single thread apps to open slower. That can be changed in the power settings.

1:36 Notice how Windows Server has Memory compression off - it says 0MB is compressed, unlike regular Windows 10 compressing some of the memory as needed.

Finally a video which explains what this “windows server” version is.

You still need to keep in mind that windows 10 is optimized for consumer usage.

And Windows server for server usage

In case you were wondering, the main use for Windows Server is to function as an Active Directory (AD) domain controller. So in a company, user accounts are stored on a server rather than individual computers, which allows administrators to do things like reset passwords remotely, assign users to groups, and give them access to certain resources.

This also means users can log into the same account on another computer (though AD doesn't store the user's documents on the server...at least not by default).

2:05 it may also mean different thermal compounds under cpu, or paste applied on each ThinkPad with months in between, or different stages of dust accumulation, or the ThinkPad that is hotter(right) is to close to the ThinkPad on the left making it more difficult to evacuate heat efficiently, and the 91C limit on both could indicate a max thermal limit setting in bios before cpu throttling.

there's a reason why it has "server" attached to its name.

It is for high capacity storage, more RAM, 24/7 run time and better reliability compared to Win10.

just wanted clear few things,
love your content ✌

6:33 timing was a bit off, you didn't press enter at the same time in this clip so we don't actually know which loaded first, but I'm assuming its still windows

Was Windows Server set on preferring programs instead of Services in advanced Settings?.

Whait, are you telling me, my ultra low-end laptop came with a 1, 300 dollar Windows server copy.... when bought at 200 dollars?!!

ONE HUGE PROBLEM: If you didn't configure Server to prioritize "programs" over "background service" these tests are 100% pointless. The configuration is in System Properties > Advanced tab > Performance Options > Advance tab.

Can any body explain please
Why when ou policy get conflict with the domain controller policy the dc wins

I configured the ou policy to allow user x to shutdown the server but it didnt apply
I did the same in default domain policy then it still not applicable then when i configured it on domain controller policy then it works
Why ?
Does the domain controller policy affects only remote desktop users and the ou policy affects the laptops users? If no then why the shutdown policy failed for ou gpo
How logically this issue can be illustrated
