I was going to get the PS5 30th anniversary, but they had a similar launch. What was 1k quickly became 5k. I decided to then to build a pc since I never had one growing up. I already bought a case and found a cpu+motherboard. I was bummed to see all the 50 series sold out. Then horrified when I saw 4080 supers that were 1k-1.2k last year are now 2k+ or sold out. I decided to go for a Radeon 7900xtx, but they're sold out too. Everything except mid to low tier are either sold out or charge 3x-5x it's actual worth. I could settle for a mid, but I wanted pc that will still be running strong several years from now with no upgrades. Guess I should get the other parts at least while they're still available.

The scalper ecosystem has been alive for a long time and it's not going anywhere for a long time either, new gpus will get hit again and again, it's not news, it's routine.
