5:59 I LOVE how he says "if you've got the same one again just mix them up again" and they go "oh yeah looks like everyone got their own again" so they mix again

Don’t be tricked into believing this is just about horoscopes and psychics and such. This is a tremendously powerful marketing tool that we all fall for. The most nefarious uses are regarding religion and politics.

My favorite thing is how this reading probably just describes fairly universal human experiences and that one guy said it was 40% accurate 😂

part 3 - At times you are extroverted, affable, sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be pretty unrealistic. Security is one of your major goals in life.

I want to read the personality assessments he gave

It's interesting that the participants are like 80%+ female and the only one who said it was 40% accurate was a guy. Reckon that particular script was better suited to females.

Part 1 - You have a great need for other people to like and admire you. You have a tendency to be critical of yourself. You have a great deal of unused capacity which you have not turned to your advantage. While you have some personality weaknesses, you are generally able to compensate for them. Your sexual adjustment has presented problems for you. Disciplined and self-controlled outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure inside.

I think the video description is a little bit unfair. It should be obvious that different personality assessments will be of different validity. Certain things (e.g., astrology) are more likely to be meaningless invalid fluff while others (e.g., the big five, the hexco) have empirical validation in the sense that they can meaningfully predict certain criteria.

For example, we know that individuals who score higher on the Big-Five personality trait of Conscientiousness are more likely to make for better workers with lower rates of counter productive work behaviours and higher rates of retention.

part 2 - At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You pride yourself as an independent thinker and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. You have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others.

Think of this at your next election time, especially if your candidate(s) seem too good to be true.

Personality assessment versed horoscope reading seems like apples and oranges. Are we saying personality types don't exist? I have taken the Meter Briggs about 4 times, with gaps of around 15 years between the first and second time. I still came out as an architect, but in that time lapse, I didn't remember the categories.

I feel like these participants are a little too... impressed and emphatic about the results? I think most people would find more to disagree with in their assessments. Maybe not? I could be wrong. But it seems a little scripted. Anyway, it's still a nice example of the Barnam effect.

On my analysis, that is the use of social medias because they can monitor your behaviour online even in youtube and it reflects on your personality. They get more and more informations about you by knowing your likes and interests. And later, they can analyze those people who have similarities and differences and that is the science behind it...
