My wife’s uncle was my Co-worker and friend.
His mom, my wife’s grandma saw me and was really happy with my personality and manners. So she told my friend and he asked me if I wanted to merry his niece. Then I got in touch with his niece and confirm if she likes me. Now we are married happily. We have so many things in common and the difference we talk it out and try to understand each other. Alhamdulilah we are really happy.

One advice for my single friends,
Don’t cry for someone too much because only Allah knows if he or she is good for you. Put your trust in Allah and seek you spouse.

I have been through this. My parents made my marriage difficult because my elder sister was not married. I have to fight strongly and arrange most of my wedding though they gave in later. I support and try to look after my parents as much as I can. They asked for forgiveness later as well.

It is very difficult to control desires and sometimes impossible to avoid Zina but till now Allah SWT has saved me from Zina. I tried to convince my parents to get me married but it is next to impossible for them to do so as it is against the norms and culture of our society but they cannot understand what is going on and how much their child is suffering while going through all of this and in effort to not to make Allah SWT angry.

My parents didn't allow me to marry someone I met at my office. She was a very pious and smart girl. But my parents rejected saying that her home town is too far away from mine. Also they were not satisfied with her family's financial status. I hope future generations will focus on personality and deen rather than wealth, social status etc..

Yes sheikh, I am one of them whose marriage is being delayed by the parents. I am 21 years old. I know one of my male classmates for two years long, and now I want to marry him, in order to abstain myself from all the haram relationships. So to abstain myself from the haram, I, myself told my parents to get us married. But they did a great emotional drama. They are saying that I am being emotional, life is not so easy as I think, boys are cheaters, and I am so blind in love that I cannot see anything so on. But the situation is totally different. I have seen him for two years and I have chosen him for myself according to the parameters selected by Allah. He says his 5 times prayer regularly and also has a good character. But none of my parents are even listening to me.... Please everyone pray for me so that I can get over this situation, and marry him as soon as possible. And may Allah make this situation and hardship so easy for me. Amin.

Yes, It is a trial for me and my sister too. Difficult to argue and disrespect on one hand and us getting older day by day on other. Mother is depressed, father doesn't have much circle of friends and he shuns all relatives. Just ridiculous reasons for rejection. I have started Relooking my relationship with Allah to get. Out of this situation. Comparing my situation to friends has made matters worse so this I have to work upon. Learning Arabic meanwhile helps to refocus and reconnect Alhamdulillah we have good scholars like M Menk..

One piece of advice that should, inshAllah, be VERY useful for our parents is if advice on these topics is conveyed in Hindi, Urdu or even Somali, languages of cultures which have more traditional views on the topic of marriage. There is only so much our parents will listen to us .
