Here's why parents are rejecting Vitamin K shots for newborns

As vaccination rates have dipped, pediatricians have noticed another disturbing trend involving parents declining an essential shot that newborns get soon after birth. For the past 60 years, newborns have received a shot of Vitamin K soon after delivery. It dramatically reduces the risk of bleeding in the brain, a life-threatening condition that can cause brain damage in infants. But there's concern more babies are now at risk because they're not getting that shot.

What happened to all the babies born before this shot was available? All the babies in the whole world bled out after birth? Amazing our ancestors survived a process called birth without the vitamin K shot. But shouldn’t we be asking WHY there’s a “deficit” of K in newborns…who says there is? What are they comparing newborn K to? Adult levels or children levels? Or other babies or what? Where did they get that number? Evolutionarily speaking wouldn’t humans have adapted to produce K by now if they actually needed it? Hello just think.

Vitamin K levels go up in the next week or so after birth. Also there are supplement options you can give your baby as well... instead of injecting. Funny how all of sudden we’re all so deficient in it. Hmmm?

We had our baby at the end of 2020 and we refused the vitamin k shot, (once we researched what it does physiologically to the baby's blood) it's unnatural and, as far as I'm concerned, more detrimental to the baby's heart and organs and can actually affect a person's development and ultimately their life span. Once we refused the shot we were treated horribly by all staff and were actually moved out of our nice room where there was an extra bed for dad, to a room that doubled as a supply closet for janitorial supplies, which was used by cleaning staff 24hrs a day when they needed to come get supplies. It was unbelievable how they treated us. After being threatened and told that they had the power to keep our baby if they wanted to by just saying they felt the baby wouldn't be safe if it left with us. We still didn't bend but we did call a bunch of lawyers and because this hospital was owned by a large corporation that was very crooked and very powerful, we could not find a lawyer, even our of state, that would sue on our behalf. One horrible thing that was the beginning of this hell we experienced was immediately after delivery when mom dad and baby were settled in the recovery room was while mom was pumping her first bottle of milk a nurse came in and fed the baby a bottle of what they claimed was donated breast milk for baby's who's mother's couldn't produce milk. Mom produced milk just fine.
So mom's out there be very careful and dad's, stay alert and vigilant because the nurses take advantage of the fact that mom is usually drugged and always "out of it" after delivery, which is when they have the mom sign all the papers, and yes even giving the hospital power over you and your baby and can actually keep both against their will if they don't cooperate. It's getting to the point where it's safer to give birth at home

I had my first daughter born in 2021, and my second daughter in April 2023. I refused to give ANY shots to any of my kids. Both of them are very healthy and thriving. My 2 year old is developing visibility faster than her peers, it is not just my opinion as a parent, every adult notices it. Our hospital was very good and non-pushy about our decision though, there was no extra pressure at all. We were recommended to go to this specific hospital by a home birthing midwife for that specific reason. To all the parents out there, stay your ground for the health sake of our babies.

I refused for my 34 week old preemie twins. They freaked out and did ultrasounds on thier brains on day 2. They are fine. Also didnt get vit k or hep b for my 7 yr old or 2 yr old. My twins are 4 now. They all are free from shots and not circumcised

What y’all need to be doing instead of injecting them with your drugs, is strongly encouraging mothers to breastfeed their newborns up to 12 mo. For the women who struggle with milk production, maybe their babies need it, idk. But sudden infant death syndrome is far more common, than people realize, and medical interventions play a much larger role in those tragedies... For certain.

It breaks my heart the lack of informed consent in modern medicine. My midwives did not tell me the risks of these injections . I do regret giving it to my baby.

Guys on the 25/02/2019 my daughter was born.
Junior doctor & senior nurse was literally forcing this vitamin K shot on my new born ..
I told them no .
They started forcing my Other half saying it’s your decision too you don’t have to agree to your partner.
My other half said what ever my partner says that’s final.
I really can see how stressful it can be but guys stand strong..
We never gave this shot to our daughter or any other shots we kept her shot clean from everything..
