It would be interesting if some content required an archeaologist or linguist for exploration missions to move forward.

Very much appreciate the video series. I've dabbled a bit in Banu, but have one major concern about the in-game benefits. I can envision YouTubers just basically providing all of the answers to these puzzles, completely eliminating the need for people to spend time and effort learning languages. The only way they can prevent this is to make these puzzles dynamic in some way, so that the answer is not the same for everybody. I do still plan to learn as much as I can.

Even if i was a SC nerd i would find it hard to justify learning a language for a niche game. Better to invest my time in learning a more popular fantasy language like Sindarin, Klingon, or Welsh.

I hope the alien language is a gate keeping mechanic for them. As in every interaction with them will not be translated for you.

You could even use a xenolanguage in a global chat with some org members to discuss a plan and no one would be the wiser. Great stuff, exciting to hear there's a community forming for this.

I backed SC but don't follow development closely. I was wondering if you could help me. I noticed the funding stretch goal for $4.5 million was 60 star systems and the $5 million goal promised 50 missions in Squadron 42. I was wondering how close they are to finishing the PTU and SQ42. It's been almost a decade and they've acquired about $350 from backers and investors. I have limited bandwidth so I want to download it when it's ready.
