Why would you ever be motivated to hire someone who is Autistic or ADHD?
When there have been so many long lists of what we can’t do and what we struggle with?

Well, that's what I talk about in today's video.

Here is the content script:

Why on earth would you want to hire somebody who is autistic or A D H D? Why would you ever wanna do it? Why would you be motivated? That's the question I'd really like to ask when there have been so many long lists. Of what we can't do and what we struggle with. It's like,

it's like going to buy a new iPhone, right? And in the shop you say to the salesperson, Hey, wanna buy this phone? And they go, Ah, this model, it's a bit glitchy. The screen might crack more easily. And other phones, um, they don't get as hot as this phone gets. You know, it gets a bit hot and it tells you I'm hot, put me down.

It's also only got 12 megapixel versus the hundred plus megapixel of other cameras. So if you've not already walked out of the shop by this point, you must be a die hard iPhone fan, right? To be able to wanna buy it. But what they didn't get a chance to sell you is it's the most innovative on the market, pushing the boundaries of what's ever believed to be possible.

Both incredible bit of technology. You just need to understand what it's good at and how to get the best out of it to fully appreciate it. Power. It's powerful, right? It doesn't mean it won't come with challenges and you may need to get good support and aftercare, um, and you may need to ensure that the customer is happy and provide plenty of tech updates to plug the gap.

but pushing the boundaries of what's possible is very rarely without additional effort. Right. Of course. The reality is that when I looked at neurodiversity 3, 4, 5 years ago, all I could see was long lists of what was wrong with people who are autistic an adhd, all the reasons why you wouldn't wanna hire them.

They don't like bright lights. They don't like people, they don't like environments, they don't like anything. Why would you hire them? Because they are incredible in their own unique way. They have spiky profiles, spiky abilities, and they are some of the most innovative minds in our society, in the world.

And this is why we would want to hire somebody who's autistic an ADHD. Now, consider that. Now if you've enjoyed this episode, hit the subscribe, hit the like, leave us a comment and hopefully you'll check out some of our other videos.

I have ADHD i get told I don't listen I rush things I talk to much
My son also has ADHD and ASD as well as mental health people with mental health are discriminated against because you can't see their disabilities so people judge you without understanding why you are the way you are

I have ADHD and had been fired from 28 different jobs by the time I was 27 they blame the disabilities every single time even though it’s a breach of disability law I bankrupted myself trying to fight employers he cited the disability as the reason for firing me after I had told them about it and been hired because they were disability friendly employers it’s all bollocks we are not cut out for their society and they have no understanding of what we are truly capable of with the right support and scaffolding scaffolding makes a sound like a building in progress doesn’t it one that no one wants to help build

I have ADHD

The perfect job for me would be similar to a bounty board

All different jobs from each end of the spectrum

No required hours or 8-5 pick up a job and do it if you can

Not bound to any set routine and freedom to choose something that is in you're area or expertise

When we find something we like we can go *hard* learning it fast, putting it maximum effort, however once novelty wears off so does motivation and mood

Something can become so boring it's depressing

In a perfect world it would be a constant stream of different things to do, thinking on your feet and not planning weeks ahead with a feeling of dread having to go and do the same thing every day 9-5 ( I have tried standard work week many times and it always starts ok but I quickly descend into self loathing and overwhelmed-ness leading into missed days and turning up late going full circle back into depression)

Just being on time every day for me was a quest in itself, spending evenings not thinking I've wound down enough leading to staying up late and repeat

Everyday Life is an absolute task

As a 26 year autistic man from the UK with no qualifications, no skills, no romantic connections, haven’t had sex since I was 19/20 and deeply depressed since I was 17. I’m firmly in the 72-78% of autistic people who will never have a career, a woman, a family, a life.
Your best bet is a long drop with a short stop because it only gets harder. We’re about to be in a world economic depression. War is upon us and worse than both of those is the fact with the rise of WEF and as demonstrated with lockdowns, the world is become more and more authoritarian, more and more controlling, more and more dominating and less and less free!
Autistic people are the lone wolves of humanity, we’re supposed to live in wilderness at the edge of civilisation but if you’re from the UK you’d know there’s zero forest, zero wilderness and there are no edges of civilisation as it has covered and dominated all of these isle.
