My five year old is has both characteristics. She joins in with other children, does follow instructions but demonstrates alot of stimming😢

I have 4.2 years old daughter. She follows instructions, has good social interaction ( like she plays with kids, plays with adults) but she is likes to wear clothes only what she like and place where she choose to go. But she does speak and doesn’t use gestures😢

My son is around 3.9 yrs old. He has speech delay. Good in gestures and understands commands and our lanaguage. Good in playing activities and greeting people but not social enough to his age kids. What category does he fall under? I am getting confused answers

Hi my son saw a speech therapist yesterday. We never been there before. She asked me 3 questions then told me if I can step out so she can be with him by her self in the room with him . He started crying after I stepped out . He was crying the whole time . She came out 5 Mims later n said I have to take him somewhere else. So I felt annoyed. Of course he's going to cry I'm not in there and he dont kno you . Any advice ?

What if they are leanings towards the speech delay side but you notice they repeat questions instead of answering them and walks their tippy toes knows all letters and colors but has bad sense of direction gets frustrated easy and won’t get off toes

I would like to say, while these can be autistic traits there are so many more that show up, and it all depends on the person. A speech delay in an autistic person may be because the brain is having problems processing information or is delayed in response, which is actually an autistic trait in some individuals.
