EASY 5 Minute Microwave Birthday Cake Recipe - 5 Minute Vanilla Cake - 5 Minute Birthday Cake

5 Minute Vanilla Cake ( Birthday Cake) :

- 85 g ( 3/4 Stick ) Softened Butter
- 90 g (1/2 cup) Sugar
- 65 g (1/4 cup) room temp Yogurt
- 180 g (3/4 cup) room temp Milk
- 160 g ( 1 cup + 2 tbsp) All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Good pinch of salt

PLEASE READ : Remember cooking time will vary depending on your microwave and size/material of your bowl/container. For an 8 or 9 inch container check the cake after 5 min, if the cake isn't ready leave it a bit longer making sure to keep an eye on it. The cooking time can vary between 5 and 8 minutes. Use a microwave safe bowl. If you're using buttercream frosting DO NOT refrigerate this cake!

Frosting:

You can use any frosting of your choice. I made a simple buttercream frosting:
Ingredients for the Buttercream:

- 170 g (1 1/2 sticks) Softened Butter
- 175 g ( 1 1/2 cups) Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp pure Vanilla Extract
- Splash of Milk ( or heavy cream) for a looser frosting
- pinch of salt
- Sprinkles

I made the cake yesterday, it really was as easy and came out exactly as Emma's all soft and fluffy. But remember that it does not taste exactly like it was baked in the oven. There is a clear difference. However it's totally worth making it if you also use the buttercream frosting as the frosting will help hide the taste difference and make it a clear winner.
