I worked in a research lab 18 years ago. I can’t believe it’s taken people this long to realize that the research will always favor whoever is funding the lab. There is so much bias in science these days it is no longer pure and hasn’t been for a long time.

Thank you, Dr. Dhand. I'm a nurse 30+ years, have worked with countless patients and residents with dementia in long term care facilities. My mother and mother-in-law were lost to dementia. One of my sisters has it now. This is sickening. All of the wasted years, money, and research that could have been put to better use. More and more I am ashamed to say I'm in healthcare.

I wish a similar "discovery" was made regarding cholesterol's connection to heart disease. If only the medical community can admit that many of the studies surrounding cholesterol and LDL also overstated their role in the etiology of heart disease, it would go a long way refocusing our efforts on finding the true culprit. Unfortunately, with the multibillion dollar statin industry at stake, the studies demonstrating how tenuous the relationship is between cholesterol, LDL and heart disease will not gain mainstream traction anytime soon.

My uncle died from Alzheimer's. This is sickening and disheartening & an insult to all those who have suffered from Alz. It's a horrible disease that families everywhere have been depending on reliable information and hoping for a cure, so who do we trust now?
