My mom just called me over upset her washer died. Crying that she will have to buy a new one. I got on YouTube and looked up the code, found your video and followed along. And sure enough it fixed it. You sir are a hero and this lady thanks you.

I had taken the switch apart earlier looking for the problem to jump out at me. Figured I needed a new switch and ordered one for about $18. Then found your video and the obvious knocked me in the forehead! I immediatly removed, fixed and reinstalled switch and voila! It worked! I cancelled the order and saved $18! Thanks!!!!

Sir, you are basically a Saint. Thank you VERY much for this DIY fix, even I could do it! However ... I got your fix done, closed the door, and immediately the door wouldn't open again, yikes -- then I realised that I hadn't plugged the washer power cord back into the wall, thankfully once I got it plugged in the door opened just fine and the washer worked as you described!

Same here, was outside working in the garden and wife came to complain. Pulled the switch cleaned the contacts and bent back. Works like a charm now. Thanks for your help, time and consideration of making this video!

Thanks Reggie . i am the grandson of the maytag repairman. i spent summers going on service calls with him but back then they were all top loaders with mechanical timers . These front loaders, all electronic, are a new kind of animal 😀

Addon.. a closer look at the second contact underneath the one I had to bend up to make the connection, there was a round puck covered in some black stuff. I had to clean that puck and the bar holding it in. I've lived with this error for years and now it's fixed! Thanks to you!
