This method of getting facial filler will make you look older NOT younger (AVOID at all costs!)

Did you know that fillers can actually make you look older? We talk a lot about aging here, and one-way people often combat aging is by using fillers. But WAIT. Before you look to fillers to help correct your aging problems, you need to hear why fillers can actually make you look older, and the unflattering results may be more permanent than you think.

Oftentimes, people go and get fillers in the same place over and over again: the outer cheeks, jawline, chin, etc. Over time, you begin to see an outwardly protruding cheekbone and overly full lower face. Your face will look more square, which makes the eye see an accelerating aging process- in short, you’ll look even older than you are.

Two months ago, I had a face lift, a neck lift with liposuction under the chin. Also had my upper eyelids done, all by one of the top three plastic surgeons in my city. Results: The crepey turkey neck is gone. The jowels have disappeared, my nasolabial folds vanished. I have great eyelids where. I can now apply my eyeshadow like a model. The oval jawline is restored. I can’t stop looking at myself! I cried with joy at how young and beautiful I am again, it was worth every penny! Please, no fillers! I could have kept going with that and many more options.. I am sixty-seven years young; I will not try to look like a twenty year old. Oh! and foundation wears like a dream. Choose carefully and only accept the procedure from a real client who will tell you they were happy with the surgeon who did the procedure. This is serious surgery and you could be disfigured with the wrong doctor. Especially do not choose on based on YouTube reviews.

As a 20 year old, I almost got some jawline filler just because. After watching this, you really opened my eyes to the reality of it and I’ve canceled my appointment. Thank you so much for sharing!

So refreshing to hear a surgeon who is educated on the stages of aging and knows how to combat it mindfully. A true artist has that kind of eye, and you’re lucky when you find one! Thank you 😊

You're so right about all this. I've worked for doctors who just do fillers and other nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, and I was always so put off by the amount of older women who were regulars in the office, and they started to not look human anymore and all had that same filler look. At what point does a doctor say no more

He needs to think about providing some visuals! He is just talking and talking and describing. We need some pictures as examples

I wasn't aware of the potential permanent effect of (too much) filler, there is indeed this idea that "it just goes away".
My dear grandma had a face-lift back in the early 1970s and she used to say that it was something to be done while you still "didn't need it too much". I suppose she meant when the sagging is yet not too extreme (when she had it she was not even 50, probably 47). She was very happy with the results and looked really good well into her 90s.

What you said about the filler making you look weird and it not going away. So true! I looked off for YEARS after stopping filler! I will never do it again!

I think you are Absolutely Right. I am almost 70, had a facelift, necklift, upper and lower eyelids done in my late 40's. I, thankfully, have never had fillers or botox (very unnatural looking, in my opinion) I often get mistaken for 55 or 60 yrs old. I am happy w that!!!

I’m Asian, I am 49 years old and I think I look young. I avoid the sun and wear sunscreen. I also maintain my weight where I don’t fluctuate. I started retin A about 5 years ago and continue to use use it.

I love this video. This is exactly what Madonna had a few years ago - a pillow face. You can't just fill up the saggy skin and expect it to look great.

I’ve had very good experience with filler. The key is to be smart about it. Don’t try to augment your features or go overboard. What it does nicely, it is great for, but there is a limit to its use and you have to know where that is. Even the best doctor may not tell you where that line is because, let’s face it, he/she is paid for procedures, not for telling you when to stop.

He makes a lot of sense. I did a FL with fat graft at 44 and face looks slimmer and more sculpted.

courtney cox didn't need anything. I think she had body dysmorphia and a fear of getting older on tv.

You know what I love about my plastic surgeon? He doesn't push surgery just because he's double board certified in plastic surgery. He performs surgery when nothing else will do, fillers when they are appropriate. Why? Because surgery is always serious business and a method of last resort, not first.

Thank you for this! So often I see actresses and actors who have procedures done and end up looking WORSE! I imagine that this would end their careers pretty quickly! I often think about having some thing done at the age of 66, but I am so frightened by a lot of the pictures out there of people who have had terrible procedures. I think I will just age the way I was meant to, and if no one likes looking at my face, oh, well! After all, it is MY face and aging is NORMAL!

I think this was an excellent description of the down sides to filler overdose. I’ve been getting judicious use of fillers for almost 20 years but I think the tipping point that the doctor is talking about needs to be more widely considered. A plan to have a lift when the diminishing returns of filler present is a not clear to many women.

Also the difference between thread lifts and a standard lift is the next topic I hope this doctor reviews.

Wow, I am not even a surgeon, nor had any surgery/fillers, etc, but I am 28 and I started looking for ways to preserve my face, while doing the least invasive procedures, so I can delay actual fillers/ lifting untill late. And my always logic was: why not just having a lifting when you enter your 40's, instead of fillers? I look at Jennifer Lopez and she preserved her face thanks to lifting(I just believe she had a lifting, because there is no way to look this youthful at 52, with any amount of filler). She still looks în her 30's and that says a lot. I am glad to see examples of good choices and also, having the "less is more" fact, proven one more time 👍
