The order of seniority email is so true. It’s an unspoken rule.

While I don't work I corporate job, cc order is determined by the order in which I remember that person should be included.

As a kid who was lower middle class and went to a rich school I really understand that first one. I'd legit mention how happy I was that my dad was taking us to Disney world with his free tickets over spring break and then my desk buddy would be like "That's great for u my family's going to our yearly Monaco vacay next week" 😑

When I was a junior associate in BigLaw, I observed the cc in seniority order as well. It did feel like an unspoken rule. But now as a practicing attorney many years out, no longer in BigLaw and having worked in various type of settings, I realize many corporate work environments do not follow that rule at all.

Not law but worked in a firm and can attest to the working out part. If i skip dinner and workout i can work until 3am after that (that is if your manager doesn't give you work at 6pm)

That "summering in Europe.." point was just that. On point, I work in tech there is a lot of folks from money there. Had to pretend I knew what "fortnightly" was then searched it on my phone.

I was told that for email the super most important person goes in cc! The rest in the “to” field in order of seniority (but now apparently some do women first?)….it’s confusing 😅

I work in a company where seniority is not be pointed out so I have to intentionally list people at random which is a lot coming from a massive corporation where I did the exact opposite lol
