It's been six months since the release of the OnePlus 8T and I thought it’d be worthwhile taking a look at how this phone has held up all these months later and whether I still stand by my original call of this being a phone that was almost perfect.

For anyone interested, you definitely can set GCam to launch with a double click of the power button. Just clear the defaults from the main camera app in the settings, and the next time you double click the power button it will give you the choice of which camera app to choose as the default.

Upgrading from the 6t. Honestly didn't need to since 6t still runs like a charm. However I really wanted the 120fps

This guy and his reviews man 🔥
I looked at those GCam port sample pictures and thought to myself that I needed it, looked in the description and there it was. Sam, you put in effort and it shows man! Glad to be here before 1M, hope you get there sooner than later! 🙌🏼

I called it the Gate Crasher in my Review, definitely prefer it over the S20 FE

Been using 8T for 6 months, totally satisfied, buttery smooth with no complaints.
Also, if anyone comes close to delivering high quality tech videos after MKBHD, its definitely Sam Beckman

I'll be getting my OP8T this monday and I can't wait! I've been using a OnePlus 3 (regular version, not even the T :P) since 2016, and while it still works perfectly, the 64Gb storage was just not good enough for me, and with the release of the OP9 and reduction in price of the 8 line, getting the 8T was a no-brainer!

I've been using this phone for 8 months now and I love it. Frankly, I don't particularly care for wireless charging and don't miss it. Besides, who really needs it when you have 65 watt warp charging? The only real challenge that I had was finding a case that I was happy with. I wound up going with the unicorn beetle Pro from Supcase. It seems to offer the most protection in an armor case and does not cover the awkwardly placed 5G antenna bands at the top of the phone. I paired it with a tempered glass screen protector from super Shields and feel these two offer the best protection. I was unaware that that slide selector switch on the side would be such a pain to accommodate when finding a case that fits properly.

I'm really curious, what is that weather widget on your home screen? Super clean

Used snap 888 processor phone and returned multiple devices for not satisfying (asus rog 5, iq legend, OnePlus 9pro) just now I got delivery of OnePlus 8t and saved some of my money really happy with it.

I purchased OP8T last week and it's still is really good phone. I actually bought the Nord 2 first, but on the same day I replaced it with 8T, as 8T has aluminum frame, faster screen refresh rate and faster screen response. The specs were almost identical, but I think the one-year-old high-tier phone is better buy than newer mid range phone in terms of the resell value I assume. And maybe it *feels* bit more high-end for me, as psycholocigally it has tad more value or quality than Nord 2. Strange.

After seeing the OnePlus 9R, I don't feel guilty of buying the OnePlus 8T anymore. 8T is a beast!

I was going to pull the trigger on 8T, then saw the 9R. It was the same with a + on the processor and a little different camera setup. So in short looked new . Using the 9R now. Happy so far

I went for it. It should be here Monday, 8/16. W00t. I went from the 6 to the 7 Pro. Big fan of Oxygen OS. Then took a backroad for a few months with the Redmi K40 Pro +, an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone I might add. It has 120 hertz display, 256 gig and 12 gigs of ram which I though would make me happy but the limitations on this phone has forced me to get rid of it. I don't have money like that but I find I don't have patience like that either. Thanks for the video Sam. Its good to see I'm making a good move.
