You’re the only person I’ve come across who speaks in clear language. I am just about to embark on Prince2. This is a wonderful video for clarification. Thank you so much.

I just done Prince 2 FDN and would recommend people to AVOID. What a load of bull with it expiring every 3 years, might aswell do APM as they are required for chartership anyway

I've been a project manager for 6months but worked in project delivery in various industries (IT, Construction & Telecoms) He is my advice, Prince2 is just a tick box for recruitment and often the methodologies are not actually used by companies. But they do help YOU deliver stuff successfully, everyone's management style is different and there isn't really a "correct" way to be a PM. One thing you didn't really speak about is APM it covers both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and the route you can take if you want to become chartered (UK version of PMP) SOME employees will ask for PMP or APM if you are doing government, bank related project delivery. So if your new to project management, I would get prince2 and then whatever your employer wants you too grab.

Love your page. Currently in college and realizing I’m not really liking the degree I am going for. After watching a bunch of your videos (and doing my own research) I’m definitely making the switch to PM. Thank you!

This is the best video regarding these certifications that I’ve seen! I’ve been looking into this for a year and just started a project management position, yet it took this long for someone to address this clearly!

Thank you Ire for your great work. I agree with you on your perspective on the different certifications. I practice project management in Canada, and I hold both PMP and CSM. These are the certifications mostly required by PM recruiters in Canada. So, it is remarkable to learn from your PM experience in the UK as they can still be applied here in Canada. Great job!

I am in the process of transitioning from oil & gas into PM. I have done Agile PM foundation & Practitioner certifications, currently doing Scrum Master, then will do Change Management & lastly PMP. I had to engage a career consultant who advised me on what to do taking into consideration my background & where I wanted to go. This is such an important aspect to consider before venturing into PM, thanks for sharing this at no cost 😁

This is such a helpful video, it's so easy if you are not in the industry to just do any course without thinking about or knowing which is the best fit. Thanks for breaking this down so so helpful!

Found this video very useful. I was just about ready to dive into Prince2 but you're simple explanation of the differences between Prince2 and Agile has me thinking I might be better with Agile based on how I've seen projects managed more recently. Thanks.

This was really helpful as you explained that the exams depend upon the industry you wish to work in. Certainly opened my eyes as I will be doing PRINCE2 in Jan 2023.

I've done both levels of Prince2 and I'm now preparing for the Prince2 Agile exam, which is how I came across this video. I'm new to PM and hoping to start a freelance business doing this in addition to my 9-5. I agree with you about experience though, it's not just the pass that will get you to your goals! 😉

Some good points. To expand on PRINCE2, there is the PRINCE2 AGILE Practitioner. Which is more of a hybrid approach and is excellent for large complex transformation projects, that need to be both adapatable AND controlled.
