Ok so I pulled the trigger and got a 20 gallon!

The silentstream filters are really good once you MacGyver your own media into them. The flow control is excellent, they will restart every time after power off, and they truly are quiet.

I like the black silicone vs the clear, not a bad deal. The light seems adequate, at least it goes the length of the tank and two rows. Of course if it was a glass top it would cost a bit more.

Got this for $50 for my sons first tank, good deal, does the basics to get you started. Heater won't go higher than 80deg if you want it warmer, had to eventually upgrade, and the filter started to become noisy, bought a seachem. Tank light is stout, I like the hood w/ light but I upgraded lights because I have a planted tank.

Thanks for the video! I have this same kit and after a teardown, I have a nice planted tank going with dwarf Gouramis. I'm a bit worried the light isn't the right type for plants. It seems plenty strong, but I've read some stuff about needing to be full spectrum. Mostly dealing with brown algae but then again the tank is still only a month.

Looks decent. I prefer the 20 gallon long over the 20 high.

Have you seen an extender for this filter, so it’s longer in the water (I can use for turtles and it’ll be less water)

not knocking the tank as more than half my tanks r 20g or under but it looks like a standard 55g would have fit there and u seem like youd be happier with a bigger tank

I have same tank but why my decorations gets dirty like rest ( brown thing) so quick and water gets dirty too

On this tank.. does the actual cartridge for the filter have to be outside of the tank?

How do you upgrade the plastic lid and light (without manually cutting glass...) has anyone found a lid that fits?

don’t unbox it! Send it back! It's the worst tank kit ever. They purposely made the dimensions weird so it's almost impossible to upgrade the lighting and lid. You will need to upgrade because the lighting and filter are junk.
