Life saver mate. User manual didn't explain it, other search results didn't explain it, ASUS' own site didn't explain it but what it came down to was when to press the F9 key. Thanks!

THUMBS UP! Everyone who makes tech tutorials needs to learn to follow your style. Thank you for not wasting my time with stories about where you got your laptop, or why you want to recover, or how partitions work, etc.

Wow I spent like 15 minutes trying to hit the f9 key when the asus sign came on instead of when the backlights came on, thank you! Lol

Guys, the recovery media that some of you require came with the PC. It should come in a disk (most likely) or maybe even a USB drive, so hopefully you did not lose it.
You might have to either:

A.) Download a "recovery disk" from the internet, in which may work, or may not.

or

B.) Try using the hidden partition if you have one.

However, it is highly recommended that you just try to find the recovery disk in the first place, though if you are one windows 10, I've heard things about how you can reset it through settings.

But please, stop giving this guy dislikes simply over your own problem. It most likely has to do with the OS or motherboard of your computer. You should only complain if you have an Asus computer with a valid copy of Windows 8.1 (or 8) installed.

"Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing".. Would you know what this means?

Perfect video. I just bought the Lenovo Y410p with the promo code you provided in your Y40 video. I'll be giving my parents my Asus laptop so this will definitely come in handy.

I was wondering how a tutorial of this would be and didn't even disappoint, Quick and short. However. Nowdays, the easiest way to do a factory reset is going to Settings > System > Recovery > Press "Reset PC"

mine comes up with a blue screen saying "insert your windows installation or media recovery disk to continue" and it doesn't give me any choices after that but to cancel. any help please?
