Whether or not Clark Kent existed means nothing compared to whether or not he was bullet proof and could fly.

When evaluating if HeySus existed consider John Henry who was born in 1848. Henry's legend was that as a steel driving man he died after winning a contest against a steam driving machine. There are 'eye witnesses' who claim to have seen to contest and claim that he died from it, despite the chief engineer of the drilling site declaring that no steam driver was ever used there and medical records show that Henry died much later due to Silicosis. If people with no motivation to shove their superstitions down your throat got it this wrong less than 200 years ago during a time when written records were voluminous imagine the bat crap crazy stuff the bible propagandists got wrong.

Yes, "Most scholars would agree that he existed". I'm sure some dude called Jesus existed. Hell, that's even true today; 1 out of every 828 baby boys and 1 out of every 296, 581 baby girls born in 2021 are named Jesus. But as soon as you start giving little Jesus from next door the supernatural characteristics as they did in the bible, things become "unbelievable".

Considering the way some ancient Greek historians expressed scepticism about some of the stories they were recording, I think they were very clear about the difference between fact and fiction.

I see it as, 3 versions of "jesus".
1. The possible human
2. The fictional bible characrer based on the human
3. The embellished version of the bible character christians fantasize about.

"Most scholars agree he existed."

But how many of those scholars were raised with Christianity?
Was it "most" of them?

If there was any evidence at all of the existence of Jesus then that document or scrap of papyrus or clay tablet or whatever would be famous and held in sacred regard.
I have never heard of such evidence.

Most scholars believe Jesus existed. Why?

I study and believe in the Bible. I definitely state there is not much accurate history, nor science for that matter. Could be because it is either a history nor science text book. lol

I love her work but ‘Most scholars agree’ means nothing.

Most scholars would agree. Meaning, it's still debated and not an absolute fact.

What does Francesca Stavrakopoulou think about whether or not Jesus really existed?

when i read some parts of the Bible, and i begin to understand the wisdom contained in the passages, i'm like, the people who wrote this were a lot more intelligent than any modern day nay-sayers. the nay-sayers have no explanation for anything important and can only find fault with everything.

The Bible contains myth, legend, history and science. The OT has yet to be translated. The little- but significant- parts Kamal Salibi has tells different stories. Start at start. THM in Gen.1:2 refers to the Tihamah regions- Hijaz, Asir and Yemen- in western Arabia, not the ‘deep.’ “The Bible Came from Arabia “, Kamal Salibi, 1985, plus his 3 other bible study books and blog for facts not fantasies. These silly braindead wannabes.
