First you have to go the exact frame in timeline where the ball first touches the hand then you have to constraint it (not before not after). And after once you constraint the ball now when you want to detach the ball and want to animate the ball independently then you have to toggle blend parent with 1 or 0, and set the keys in timeline (1= hand is working as a parent. 0= hand is not working as a parent).

am writing this because just now i learned this and i had a confusion of when i need to constraint the ball. thats why i am sharing this. thank you

For users who do not see blend parent, please see. If base animation is turned on, type delete BaseAnimation in the mel script and press Enter. If you apply the constraint again, the blend parent will appear.

Hello, I want to ask.

My blend parent doesn't appear, even though I have set the key on the ball object. what should i do?

I'm using Maya 2018

Thanks for the video. It really helps, But i just want to know, does the object you parent/contrain have to be to a control point? Or can you do the same thing to one of the joints or bones of the skeletal mesh?

As soon as I change Blend Parent to zero it returns to the original position before the character grabs the object.

im doing a box lifting animation. and sometimes the box shifts away without me doing anything, is it a glitch or did i miss anything??? I had already frozen the transformation and deleted history, also checked for constrains and nothing
