Why would you use collisions on tilesets, instead of creating a collision object? What would it change?

i had been thinking about implementing tile based collision into my game for a while now, i saw a few snippets of this video and decided your way was the best way to do it. Really clever use of auxiliar values, and very easy to implement, thanks a lot for the inspiration.

I'm still having a hard time with collision, the codes work perfectly but what I'm looking for is a way to prevent the player from passing through a tile. You got any pointers on that?

tile_place_meeting doesn't appear to work... it doesn't resolve as a function. Something changed. Any idea if they replaced it with another function?
